    Rain gear

Going to VIR this weekend, looks like rain on Saturday. I don't have time to order anything, but does anyone have any good recommendations for rain gear?

Frog Togs. You can buy the at Walmart. Waterproof and breathable.

Or buy cheaper 2 piece rain gear from Walmart if you're concerned about ruining them in a crash.

    Re: Rain gear

The default answer for rain gear is Frogg Toggs. Relatively inexpensive. Mostly works reasonably well. Available at places like Dick's and Sports Authority in many cases.

It's not the best. It's not the cheapest. It generally works.

    Re: Rain gear

I recommend 1-piece...rain seems to penetrate every seem possible

and I use the cyclegear rain suit...1 piece...$50...it takes *really* heavy rain to penetrate the crotch

    Re: Rain gear

My Gore Tex jacket and pants from EMS held up for about 7 years of HARD use (thousands of miles highway commuting and hundreds of hours cornerworking). I had to retire the jacket two years ago, because the re-waterproofing spray just wasn't working anymore. The pants are actually still pretty decent. I know it's kinda pricey stuff, but if you can find it on sale, deals can be had. I think I spent $45 total for the set.

    Re: Rain gear

Another vote for Frogg Toggs. I bought a set for off road riding in the pouring rain and they work quite well. I went up a couple sizes so it would fit over my armor.
