    Ramp for bed on 2500HD

Almost dropped the 954 loading it in last week. The bed of my 2500 HD is way to tall to run beside the bike and jump up into the bed. My ramp is also too short making it way to steep. What ar emy options for ramps. I really down not want those really wide onse that you can also use to load a quad. I think that is going to be my only option since I can not hop into the bed of the truck. Cheap is key. hmmm

    Ramp for bed on 2500HD

I have a Walking Ramp that I built from a 8' board at Home Depot and one of those metal ramp feet. I put skateboard griptape on it for some added traction.

I hear ya. Loading anything other than a dirtbike into my 2500HD sucks. When I load my motorcycles alone I either park on a lil hill to level out the ramp, or put it in 1st gear and nurse it up the ramp.

Put your real wheels in a ditch or someplace that is lower elevation and it will lower your bed for loading.

I've used one of these to extend a ramp that was too short

Bring a sturdy step to help make your jump into the truck bed easier. Going from the ground directly to the bed is tough.

Get 1 or 2 more ramps so you can walk up (using existing ramp for the bike). 2 wood boards w/ ramps ends would be cheaper than buying a full-width ATV ramp (~$350). ATV ramp is great if you do decide to spend the $$. Someone posted a link to a BlackWidow(?) ramp that seemed real nice - longer than most ramps, folds in half, 3 pieces (2 regular ramps and a wide middle ramp, can use in any combo). Worth the $$ if you ask me.

+1 on the parking elevation; that helps a lot too.

At my house I just back up to the stone wall and drive it on. Perfect height. The issue is when I am at a friends house. Last week at teach and shawns we actually loaded it into the ranger and then from the ranger to the truck. Talk about sketchy.

If you play the shorter ramp option and keeping the bike in first gear to get it in the bed, it's worth an extra couple bucks to get a tiedown and cinch the ramp to the trailer hitch or whatever ya got to prevent it from kicking out.

For $150 at Lowes you can get two arched ramps that will make loading a breeze. I was doing the 2x10 and aluminum ramp tops thing myself, but decided expensive ramps were better then hoping to find cheap plastics.
