The media lumped us all into the same thug category...gee never saw that coming

More intense scrutiny....well, the more intense scrutiny has been going on in NY for over 10 years now. As you all saw, it has done lots of good.

this is why the only thing I do on my motorcycle now is ride to my gf's house.

everyone I rode with got crazy started doing wheelies everywhere, I can't afford anymore tickets so I don't go out to ride my bike fast, I use it as transportation period

sorta sad too, need to sell the rice rocket and buy something more upright and more naked

As with everything these days, it is going to follow public opinion (read what voters want) and not fully the law. And unfortunately the majority of the sheeple can be easily swayed by what the well dressed pretty people on the idiot box tells them to think. So we'll see if the news wants us to hate gangs of bikers, if the rich guy in the SUV was the antagonist, or bikes should be outlawed because they obviously cause mob mentality.

Re: Range Rover runs over biker(s)

    From NY Times:

Details have emerged about the phone calls made by Mr. Lien’s wife, Rosalyn Ng, who was a passenger in the S.U.V. along with her 2-year-old daughter. The first call came in at 1:52 p.m. as the vehicle was speeding toward a highway exit near 165th Street.

Ms. Ng made at least four frantic calls to 911 in the span of about eight minutes, the police said.

Her third call, at about 1:55 p.m., was made after the riders caught the S.U.V. in Washington Heights and had begun to beat her husband. She made her last call about 2 p.m. By that time, the police had arrived on 178th Street and the motorcyclists had left, Mr. McCarthy said.

The calls may be significant when the authorities consider Mr. Lien’s actions and whether he is responsible for the injuries to the motorcyclist the Range Rover struck.

Well you have become more hooliganish in the past few years. I blame the "gang" you ride with sometimes

I thought this was a joke. Nope.

    Statement of Lien family.

Our plan last Sunday was to celebrate our wedding anniversary by having a nice family day out with our two-year-old daughter. Unfortunately, instead, we were placed in grave danger by a mob of reckless and violent motorcyclists.

"Our sympathies go out to the injured motorcyclist and his family. However, we were faced with a life-threatening situation, and my husband was forced under the circumstances to take the actions that he did in order to protect the lives of our entire family. Our fear for our lives was confirmed when the incident ended with the ruthless and brutal attack on my husband, me, and, most importantly, our two-year-old child. We know in our hearts that we could not have done anything differently, and we believe that anyone faced with this sort of grave danger would have taken the same course of action in order to protect their family.

" We would like to thank the brave citizens who risked their own safety to intervene on our behalf. They truly helped save our lives and prevented my husband from suffering further injury. We also appreciate and are moved by the outpouring of love and support so many have expressed here in New York and around the country.

" We would ask that the public and the media to respect our privacy at this difficult time and allow my husband to recover from his injuries. From here on forward we would ask that any further inquiries regarding this unfortunate incident be directed to our lawyers Nicholas J. Massimo and Frank C. Panetta.

Gee, the riderzzz seem so shocked at the outcome, how unreasonable of the SUV driver:

    http://gma.yahoo.com/video/bikers-la...121153960.html

    a paraphased quote from Xavier:

it's really messed up, you know, the PROPER thing to do when you hit someone, you know, pull over and exchange paperwork and wait for the police.
HHHHHMMMMMM, I wonder if Xavier is familiar with these definitions: http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/proper

    prop·er adjective \ˈprä-pər\

: correct according to social or moral rules

: behaving in a way that is correct according to social or moral rules

    hyp·o·crite noun \ˈhi-pə-ˌkrit\

: a person who claims or pretends to have certain beliefs about what is right but who behaves in a way that disagrees with those beliefs

and exactly what papers would they have exchanged?

That statement from the Lien family is probably from their lawyers as it does set the stage for a nice defense. Interesting to hear what the 4 911 calls sound like during the incident.

That's what I did in 2012 except I kept the rice rocket for days I want to be a hooligan. Funny thing is, the naked bike is a lot more powerful and louder than the rice rocket so I end up being more of a hooligan on the naked and less of hooligan on the rice rocket. Kind of ass backwards! 99.9% of the time I ride solo. I got tired of all the drama that typically happens with group rides.

I know there really isn't but I was hoping to keep my SS and add an upright bike to the stable, now i'm thinking I might just sell it and move on from it totally... the part that is sad is I have put so much $ and time into this bike. I will never get back what I put into it. and I know that's the norm... and that is just sad.

I probably wont even post it on here since my you'll probably all laugh at the price and flame me for it. I hope I find some "new" young rider that wants all the bells and whistles.

there are a bunch of them in the spring :0D

you're just a hooligan Billy no matter what bike you're on... hahah but i'm thinking more adventure bike than the streetfighter like the k1000 you got.

I went back to stock exhaust as well, mainly because I got a ticket for the after market one, but I actually like the bike better now that I can hear myself think on it.

I know, all the people we rode with either stopped or got to squidish for you too right around the same time it happened for me a couple years ago.
