I think part of the reason I-4s get a bad rap for torque is because 1st gear has gotten so tall in these bikes to take advantage of the top end power that you have to be moving at a decent clip before the engine really starts generating torque.

3K rpms gets it above the cams lumping, but on the dyno, its making over 60 ft/lbs at 3000 rpms, and signs off @ 80 at 7800 rpms I should let you ride it next time we meet up.
