Are you ready for this season?

Is it me or has others noticed that there seems to be less enthusiasm on this board. Are the peeps here less anxious about the up coming season? Have members of NESR matured to the extent that ripping it up on our favorite roads have given way to more responsible riding?

It has been my observation in the past few years since I joined NESR in 2002 that the overall trend has gradually moved away from the thrill ride in the country to a more conservative casual ride with a few sparky moments for an adrenaline fix and kept more agressive riding on the track. Not that this is a bad thing at all.

Just curious. Share with me your thoughts.

Are you ready for this season?

I'm going to try make my winter tires stretch tread life for at least another month, my SV is going in for 105k service on Friday, I'll ride to work tomorrow, drop it off tomorrow nite, so they have cold valves in the morning . Last year I spent about $1500, tires, fork seals, chain sprockets, brakes (pads calipers rotors) , this year I think I should spring for a rear shock, tires again, and I need new riding gear, I have to use a half roll of duct tape to go riding

I am very excited for this upcoming season. I am just sick of waiting to get the dust off the bike and start riding it. I think once people get back into the groove again there will be much more excitement on this board!

I don't get what this post is about Mick. I'm sure it wasn't directed at me. But, maybe some things are better left alone.

Mick, I will mail out the money this weekend.

You can put your stock cans back on if you still have em Chris. I E-mailed Ducati North America a couple of weeks ago about some parts I ordered back in October. I actually got a response and a phone call from them. The best it did for me is allow me to vent a bit and get a push from DNA to get the part made and delivered. I have a feeling they will get them here in their own sweet time.

When you peeps get back from VIR, I gotta feeling that the season will be off to a good start. According to the Farmers Almanac, April is suppose to be dryer than normal and temps are gonna be above normal. I hope they are right.

Wish I were going to VIR. Have fun!!!!!!!!

I'm just in winter depression mode. Once march hits I expect it to at leat be in the 40's so I can take the occastional mid-day blast. This 10 degress shit is rediculous and more snow is on the way.

The first somewhat warm day and people will start coming out of hibernation.

Are you ready for this season?

    To review.

Yes in Vermont 5 years ago I passed everyone slowly and drove back to camp.

I guess Mick thought I was following to close but instead of asking me to back off when we stopped, he flamed me on the forum a day later. I always let them lead.

Run from the Cops NO !
At the start of the ride I told everyone that I pull over when the LEO points directly at me. I was riding sweep and the Cop passed me going after the main group. I and another simply turned around and made the right toward Amherst. PS Once again I was not leading and nobody got tickets.

Yes I pass more than most and yes I have limited recreation time that I would choose not to waste sucking coffee for twice the amount of time of actual riding.

I also never lead unless I am very confident in the skills of those I am with.

Maybe I am old at 57 but where will all you whiners be then. Remember to High Schoolers you guys are already over the hill, as it is all relative. I guess you don't want to face, its juvenile fun, that it don't mean anything, and if you can bend your right wrist you can do this

Wayne I am a bit surprised to see this sentiment from you as your rides seem very tame and mature with selective fun in the right places... which is just fine with me.

Any lack of excitement on my part is cause I am trying to balance bicycle racing & motorcycling. I still haven't decided what I am going to do for my vacation this year. I'm thinking either take off for a week and ride as far away as I can on the VFR, or possibly just go down to the smokey mountains again, but to bicycle them this time instead of motorcycling.

I can understand Rich's sentiment about too much coffee. Although I think cigarrette breaks are worse!

    Wayne,

Come down to Deal's Gap with us this year. You won't be thinkin about "less exciting" rides for long....it is NUTS down there.

I led a fast ride last year. People crashed. Makes me think twice about leading another since no matter what you say, people still ride over their head on group rides even if they don't think so.

I've been riding with you a few times. They are very tame rides but long as hell. Are you lookin for more 'yee-haw' rides? I'll take you for some rips, just not as long as you seem to enjoy

Lets get it rite... You passed a bunch of other riders in a 20mph zone, in the middle of a small congested town, in the middle of some sort of a parade or whatever type of gathering it was in that town that day.. You know, like kids everywhere, people walking up and down the streets, crosswalks...
The thing that kills me is you STILL feel it was ok to do that Just confirms what a dumb fuck you really are.
You'll never make a post here or on any site that i visit where i won't try to warn people of your dumbass moves and i'm glad i'm not the only one that feels this way

I am very excited about the upcoming riding season. Even though I won't have the bling to compete with you, Wayne...

I enjoy a group ride led by Wayne simply because I am NOT an obnoxiuos passing speed freak who rides way over their own abilities. Sure, we rip it up a bit, but we do so only when prudent.

So, make sure I am on your list, Wayne!!!!!

    I wish I could.
I sold my stock manifolds with my headers.
Maybe shouldn't of done that but I thought that DNA would come through faster.
I talked to Chris at BCM and she said that they talked to DNA and there is no way to know when Italy will send my system.
She also said that they (BCM) has a few other systems on order and DNA knows to rush them out ASAP.
I'll just have to check back in a few weeks.
No rush with more snow on the way.

I should be ready for Spring, I hope
