This strikes me as one of those really unnecessary inventions.

    Re: A Real Tent

Actually, I kind of like the idea. It would be a great tent for truly long-distance touring (like my ride to Alaska next year...) when you'll be forced to camp in the rain at some point.

I don't like it enough to spend $400 on it though.

Buy a regular tent and carry a motorcycle cover with you... Boom, just saved you $300.

or you could just get a slightly bigger than regular tent, put motorcycle inside tent and boom, saved $250 and still have the bike sheltered

    Re: A Real Tent

I have a small bike cover that takes up very little space. I've left it home on trips and haven't really worried about letting the bike sit outside for a week.

One benefit of this tent is that you can conceal the bike. But, is that really necessary?

Could someone please explain why your bike needs to be protected from the rain while on a trip?

I'm still failing to understand that part of this invention.

I'm thinking it's more for the guys camping in a camp ground.. You hear noises all night long, some one could role your bike away and into a truck no problem. oddly, I bet this is lighter than a chain.

    Re: A Real Tent

When I wash the bike I use the same thing as rain....Water....And the water actually never makes contact with the bike. I keep it waxxed. So water/rain actually only touches a film of wax. And even if I did not wax it it would touch paint. Purpose of paint..To protect the metal. So if it rains wash the bike with more water. But wear a raincoat cause you want to be dry before you take a bath.

    Re: A Real Tent

it would be good to not have to take all the crap off at night ,

    sheepskin seat cover
    radar detector
    GPS
    tank bag

plus with the bike covered you can hang your gear on it to drip dry
or at least air out a bit even if it rains outside .

cool idea but not worth $400.

a cheap small tarp and some bungies will do the trick .

although even if you don;t park the bike in there it would be cool to have shelter that you can cook in being that there is no floor in the "garage" . especially when it rains
