Can anyone reccomend a good backpack?

I'm looking for a good backpack for motorcycle use. It would be great if it had the following qualities:

    - Some sort of way for preventing my back from getting absurdly sweaty. Some bags have little "bumps" that lift it off your back in a few places

    - Big enough to hold a camelback bladder, and pants/shirt/shoes, while not being a "hiking class" bag

    - Has to be a backpack because I'd like to use it when riding my bicycle as well. If it can covert to a tank/tail bag that'd be cool too../

This little guy looks awesome, but it's uselessly small:
    SpeedPac Hardshell Extreme Backpack

    Thanks all!

    -Sean

I have seen a number of ads for backpacks in the various cycle rags. Motorcycle-superstore sells several....

Fly Racing Flightpack - Motorcycle Superstore

I have done quite a bit of business with these guys and they are excellent. Order on line, get confirming email right away. Within 24 hours you get the FedEx tracking number. Everything an online purchase should be. Oh...and they answer their phone too!

how bout a tank bag or a tail bag? I have a backpack I use while riding, but i strap it onto the back seat. I'd rather have it there instead of strapped to my back.

Well, I'd like to be able to use it when I'm on my bicycle as well. I'll edit my first post...

gotcha. so some sorta performance day pack, then. North Face has a bunch of stuff like that on their site....

The North Face - Packs -> Performance

Like I said about my back pack, i strap mine onto the tail of my bike. Get one w/ a waist strap & you can use that to go around the whole tail & the shoulder straps to cross underneath. If you've got grab rails that makes it easier, too.

I picked up a North Face Borealis pack because I have to start commuting with a laptop. It is very comfortable with a waist and a chest strap so it does not move at all during the ride. Packed everything I needed in it for three days of bike week.

I'd buy a SuperPro from Jon Bailey. Great guy, great bag and you can feel good about supporting a local business that doesn't employ 11 year old Asian girls... at least I don't think he does...

Sling bags put the weight on only one shoulder. This causes uneven weight distribution and sometimes pain in that shoulder.

For me it is the most comfortable to ride with. I'm sure there are better ones.

Yeah, I have the issue as well. Nothing caught my eye in particular.

I'm pretty sure I'm going to get this bag:
    DAKINE : APEX

It does everything I want and more, and my buddy can get it for me for around $60.

I have been using a cheap sling backpack until I found something I liked.

I like the design though. It can't slip off my shoulder when I wear my leather jacket, I personally don't really even notice its there, when I am riding. I had my sweater, and a full bottle of 3.7gt thing of oil in it today.

I havn't had the chance to try anything else though. SO I don't know how the straps will work with the leather.

I found a great backpack on Ebay for $50. It is from Suzuki, has 3 compartments, plus one for a helment and an extra lens! Check out Ebay, you might find a diamond in the rough.
