    registry appointments

Anyone know the best time of day/night to attempt to book a MA RMV appointment? I haven't found the motivation to write a script to hit the relevant web services. PM's welcome.

    Re: registry appointments

I had no luck with the rmv. Zero.
I went to my AAA office and was able to both renew my license and upgrade to a real ID at the same time.
Granted, this might not help with a reg/title situation, but I believe they can take care of SOME of that as well.

Check first thing in the morning, like 7am. You'll see a few time slots generally a week out.

A friend went out to Springfield (I think for her son's permit) because she couldn't get in out here.

    Re: registry appointments

I got my appt for worcester 7 days in advance. Just went last Friday. And I registered a bike without any questions or anyone challenging me about it being "non-essential"

Note: they still line everyone up outside. I luckily got there about a half hour before my appt and jumped right in line. I got in exactly at my appt time and once you're in its very quick. i was in the building for maybe 5 minutes total.

Sylwia registered her new motorcycle yesterday. She also had to book and wait roughly a week for her appointment.

Thanks folks; it's good to hear it's at least possible to get an appointment. I'll set an alarm, or check the site *before* coffee next time.

RMV related question. My son has a Learner's Permit and can't get the test appointment anytime soon. But the BRC motorcycle courses have started back up.

Could he take a course and get a Motorcycle-only license? Or does he need to have a Driver's License first?

He has a learner's permit for class D, right, not a permit for motorcycles? I don't think a Class D permit means much in this context.

In the past, you needed an MC permit only if you wanted to test for the license during the BRC test, to avoid having to do the test on another day at a state facility.

However, apparently you don't even need that right now. Sounds like he can go take the BRC with zero paperwork : https://www.trainingwheelsonline.com...t-license-in-3

    Re: registry appointments

    Hm..... that's a good question.

You don't need anything at all to take and complete the BRC... but you do need an M permit to get your M endorsement VIA the BRC.

What I don't know is if you can get an M only endorsement license without going to the RMV if he doesn't have any other license... It's possible.

That would be a question for the BRC administrator or the MA RMV. Eugene Carabine (Director of the Massachusetts Rider Education Program) could probably tell you. I think it'd be worthwhile to look him up and email him.

Does he have a D or M permit?

Will the state start administering driver tests in Phase 3 (which should start 6/29)?
