removable wheel chock for light dirt bikes

    are they all the same?

    want:
-can hold the front wheel of '03 XR100 and '96 CR125
-removable to open up bed space

I have an '01 F150 that runs on compressed natural gas; and the tanks have a cover that you can't put a heavy load on and take up a good amount of bed space.

I want to put chocks in so I'm not pushing against the tanks...and I want removable chocks so I can use the whole bed for moving shit

bikes are light, and I'll get a removable condor-style chock for the middle of the bed to carry a sport bike

fleabay has some for $22.48 shipped:

will that work? are they all the same for <200lb bikes?

Nope.....I would get a Pingel one. i have two in my trailer and they are solid and have a better wing nut system to remove...and can be found on ebay for just as cheap FYI.

Here take a look at the wing nut things......

I second the Pingle. I have seen the cheap ebay knock offs break in half/bend.

For dirtbikes, I'd just put a board across the back of the bed when needed.

whoa, I thought they were all created equal...thanks for the heads up

there's a dude selling 3 pingel stands for $50/stand with the hardware and I might pick a couple up

Kerr-lawn - remember that my truck is CNG...there's a big ass set of CNG cylinders at the front of the bed that I can't put anything against it...I don't want it to go boom!

    I have a bike grab http://www.lifts-and-stands.com/inde...eel-chock.html

adjustable for tires 80mm to 195mm you can use it for front or rear wheel chock, they also have a quick release kit to make it quickly removable

Yup... it's a truck. It's got spots in the bed to hold boards at different distances from the gate, you can also drill it for mounting holes just like you're planning on doing with chocks, or just use a couple two by fours UNDER the tanks to cause said board to push against the back of the bed instead of the tanks... or you could just, you know, run your truck on gas like it was intended and actually get use of your whole bed...

hmmmm...I didn't see any stake cut outs in the bed...

I'll take pics and post 'em up...maybe I can do this without chocks

wait - how is this easier than chocks?

Well, considering cheap wood is generally easily available, and costs less, I figured you'd already be in full scrounge mode raiding local building sites after getting turned onto the idea...

Besides, if you have a truck, and intend on using that bed you'll need something to protect those tanks so why not do a slightly more permanent setup that also conveniently accounts for bikes?

one thought comes to mind. why the fuck would you buy a truck you can't use as a truck?

you can use it as a truck just fine...just install wheel chocks so you're not tying the bikes against the CNG tanks

I also pay <$2/gallon for natural gas and turn a 1 hour 20 min commute through southern california a 35 min ride in the HOV lane.

I spend 40% less on gas/year than you do with your tundra!
