I am thinking about getting a Honda Grom, but I really want to ride one for a few hours (or a day) before I start looking for one. Being a bigger guy, I want to see how it feels riding it. Are there any places in northeast MA that rent them? Or does anyone have one they would be willing to rent me for a day? Happy to pay. I have been riding for 10+ years and am fully insured.
Thanks all!
Dude, I have 2 come up and ride your heart out...... its all you. I am sure it will only take a few miles LOLOL

It might be very fun but I am guessing you would be looking like a monkey fucking a football![]()
For me, the promise of looking ridiculous is part of the Grom's core value proposition.

I'm 6'3", 220lbs and I rode one (with a passenger!) for an hour or two last summer. It was pretty fuckin' slow, but it was quite comfortable.

I have had more than a couple people laugh at the GROM. They ask is that REALLY what you rode here on? Yup you look like a fool riding the thing.
Here is a funny story about the influence of the Grom. I live in a neighborhood that is typical young families. This development has wording in the deed to keep up appearances and so on... The place where all the sports jocks get married and have kids. One of THOSE snooty neighborhoods. Well there I am ripping wheelies in front of my house a few years back. The mini bike caused quite a stir. Then something funny happened. All of a sudden the Jone's bought mini bikes for their kids. Now the neighborhood is full of internal combustion mini vehicles and right now this is buzzing the neighborhood.

Please share your gearing experience. What did you go to and what about top speed?

I just went down to a 14T front, top speed is still around 55-60 depending on wind speed, seating position and road grade. Makes first gear wheelies easier, definitely.

I use body english for stock first gear wheelies while clutching it up. Works fine but 2nd gear is down right hard to do.

Mine has a lot of work done to it.....Ill get the exact gearing numbers tonight. I have hit on GPS down hill, tuck with a stiff wind 72-75. The gearing is enough to snatch 2nd and not too tall to kill the top end.

Alos, getting rid of a lot of stock parts is Key too......smog bottle, huge whale tail ect.
and a bunch of other stuff also, PC wheels, horn mod, seat mod.... never ends HAHAHA
and then there is the Wife's Grom that has a PC, pipe and tail removed and pulls up about 70... mine will walk away in 4th on it
But LETS ALL RIDE SOON..................

Z125 supposedly has less peak power than the Grom, but a slightly better power curve. Don't know much else about it.
You might want to watch "Battle of the 125cc Ankle-Biters" on YouTube. It's the Motorcycle.com review of the Grom, Z125, SSR Razkull and Kymco K-Pipe 125.

Which is unfortunate cause all the guys I've talked to have said that driving a slow bike "fast" is so much more fun then driving a fast bike slow
