    Question Bike Jacket Sizez Question

Ok, the only jacket i own at the moment is a Dainese jacket. It's pretty cool, and sporty looking with armor and stuff and its a size 52 - just a tid bit to small but almost perfect fit <no idea if thats euro or american, i think american>, I want to buy a leather jacket, but i have no idea what size to get. I went to a shop and tried on a 50 and it was to big!

I'm considering a Telefoinca replica leather jacket found on here

    http://sportbikedecals.safeshopper.c...cat638.htm?233

i'm about 6.1, 185 pounds. I have no idea what size to get, cause sizes seem all different and no shop around me sells these exact jackets so i have to order it.

    any1?

    Bike Jacket Sizez Question

the difference is between euro sizing in the dianese and us sizing on this particular jacket.

    I normally wear a 52- 54 euro and 42-44 US. I'm 5-10 175lbs.

    Bike Jacket Sizez Question

If you're gonna go the mail order route, make sure the site you buy from is really good about dealing with returns, as I've found that almost every manufacturer is different enough to make the exact prediction a gamble.

    Bike Jacket Sizez Question

I like New Enough's site for comparing sizes.
I find something I own and see how they rate the size I have and then compare it.
Plus they say things like you can't be a pot belly, etc. in their description of the garment.

This is your answer right here. Euro size is US size plus 10. Dainese uses euro sizing. You should wear US 44 or EURO 54 from what I can tell. Make sure you know which one you are buying. Personally, I'd want to try on whichever jacket I was going to spend that much $$ on. Some jackets run bigger or smaller than actual size.

    Good luck.

    Bike Jacket Sizez Question

I tried on a US 48 today and it felt right although it did seem like i had a little room to go 46, but i like em just a little loose, i cant stand having it so tight i can't move. My size 54 Dainese kills me.

    Bike Jacket Sizez Question

Well, earlier you said it was a 52. Bottom line: just rember the US/Euro difference and if you are buying a jacket online that you have not tried on make sure it is a vendor with a good return policy. A jacket should fit fairly snugly for it to work properly btw. Not tight, mind you, but it shouldn't move around on you to much or the various protectors can move on you in the event of a crash thereby reducing its effectiveness quite a bit.

    Bike Jacket Sizez Question

    You're 6'1" 185? I can't imagine you'd need a 48. I wear either 44 or 46 depending on the manufacturer and I'm 6' 200#. What is your chest measurement (in inches) anyway? I'm 44" around the chest, 35" waist.

    Bike Jacket Sizez Question

about 42.5-43 chest and 34 waist.

Just about same size as you.

That jacket is made in spain, so it might be like a half a size smaller. You know how euro stuff is, so i should be good with a 46 (56 euro), because a 42(52 euro) kills me and leaves my back nakid

    Bike Jacket Sizez Question

Yeah, some Euro stuff runs a tiny bit small. I wear at 56 in Alpinestars for example. That should work for you.

    Bike Jacket Sizez Question

I'm exactly the same size as you... 6'1, about somewhere between 180-185 right now.

They are all different, you'll just have to try them on.

My JR Cordura Jacket is a large, it has plenty of room to wear a sweatshirt, heated jacket, whatever underneath, my Firstgear Mesh jacket is a medium and has enough room for a t-shirt, etc..

My Teknic leather suit is a 46 (second # is 56, I don't know what that is, length?) and basically fits tight enough I can only wear a thin t-shirt and boxers, etc.. underneath. It's a little short actually, not much you can do about that once you're over 6ft.

A lot of the sizes they list are totally out of wack. If you are just getting a jacket and not a whole suit I'd say get it a little bigger so you can wear normal clothes under it.

If you're riding a lot right now you'd be better off getting a street fit jacket with some room since it's getting cold and you'll need insulation under it.

    Ben
