well a speed triple and a daytona was on their list. I'm ok to let them ride my own Daytona and this speed triple happens to be available as well. Might not fit the price range but they'll get to at least test ride them. I get to help some fellow nesr members, they get to ride some of the bikes they wanted to test. win/win

there may be some differences with the older ones, but the motor should have a similar feel, and that is really what I am trying to figure out. i've ridden i-4s, i've ridden v-twins, i have never ridden a triple. i appreciate the offer...i'm hoping to be able to get out in a couple weeks and take some of you guys up on these offers. race weekend this weekend, so if anyone happens to be coming to the track with their bike, let me know and i'll try to hit you up there.

I wish I could have offered you my 08 Z1000. They are extremely comfortable in stock configuration, although they are a bit heavy. But they have a fantastic motor, throttle response and tranny. And with some seat work, you can ride it all day long without getting tired. I'd say the only weak point, aside from being portly, is the suspension. It was not fantastic from the factory.

It's worth looking into if you like the styling. You can get the 1st and 2nd gen's for super cheap these days.

I just want to say that's there's a reason triumph doesn't make 4cyl bikes anymore. They sucked at it.

I'm actually a bit surprised at the sizes of bikes you're interested in.

I got mine for 9k a bit over a year ago. I'm sure the value on them hasn't gone up. Anyway I should have it @ Bomo Monday if you wanna ride it.

Speed Four: 375 pounds, 31.9" seat height
    SV650S: 376 pounds, 31.5" seat height
Street Triple: 370 pounds, 31.5" seat height

    Ocean liner?

The street triple IS narrower due to one less cylinder. The speed four width is similar to any other 600, if not narrower due to less bodywork. If comfort is any concern, would you rather ride on a motard seat or gold wing seat?

LOL just ride it...I may bring it to Rice-a-Rama and/or the next LRRS event if you really want to try it and distance is a problem.
The width plus further reach equals ocean liner to me. The wife and I road the balls off of Adam's (mungea) two up. While it is flickable, but imo it took a lot more weight on the bars to tip it in then the street. It did how ever low to have both wheels off the ground. and she actually liked the rear seat of the s3 better then the streety.

Here's a good site to view the ergos. Plug in an S4, S3 and Striple. The Striple is the a little more upright and shorter in the arms than the S3 and a lot more upright and shorter than the S4.

Why's that? This is a serious question...should i be looking at something else? You know my riding style, and would like your input.

Welp, no more bike shopping for me for a bit....Rob just picked up a 2004 R1 from National Powersports. Awesome service, great easy transaction and of course, it didn't hurt to just sit on bikes making vroom vroom noises for a couple hours chatting with Ryan Nicholson (good to see you, as always).

Honestly it sounds like you guys made the right choice after talking to you about it. You love that SV so much, I'm not sure I could find a bike to beat it... might as well buy an R1 for Rob haha. Good to see you guys as well!
