    Rider Down Boston Tunnels 8/18/08

Motorcyclist killed in Boston tunnel crash
    By Globe Staff

A 54-year-old woman was killed early this morning in a motorcycle crash in the O'Neill Tunnel in Boston, State Police said.

The woman was driving north on a 2007 Harley Davidson at about 5:42 a.m. when her motorcycle struck the wall on the right side as she took Exit 26 towards Storrow Drive. The collision caused the woman to strike the handrail on top of the wall, police said in a statement.

She was pronounced dead at the scene. Her name was being withheld...

    Didnt know her but RIP

    RIP rider.

I know exactly where this occurred... that tunnel tightens up to the left and the pavement is pretty slick there. Could easily catch someone off guard.

If you look down, you go down. That may be fun at an orgy, but it sucks on a bike

eh, why not? lots of older folks buy harleys, lots of them have jobs in the city, she was probably commuting in for another day of work.

Why are people so critical. We all lead lives that take us in all directions at different times. Age and gender should not even be a discussion.

    RIP fellow rider.

Not to drag this further than it already has, I did not mean my comment as criticism. I meant it as a positive remark denoting that it's rare and admirable to see older riders (especially women) commuting to work through the city.

I heard this while getting ready for work. That's horrible...I wonder what caused her to crash into the wall at that time...

+1000 thats a very slick part of the road due to accumulated oil and is downright scary when you add a lil bit of water

    RIP

Funny thing, we make all kinds of fun on HD riders, until someone passes away on their bike.

Sad truth and way too much of this happening this season.

yeah that curve is a little tighter than it looks, has some bumps, and can be slick. (I used to commute through there on my sportster)
