So I took the Rider Class

Over these weekends i took the rider class and passed it. It was really really userful imo, and I learned a lot of things that in the future might save my life.

Now all I need's a bike. I've got about 3.000$ saved up, but im thinking I'll just wait and get a bike in the wintertime. I'm able to save up about 1k a month <paying rent sux> so by January I should have about 8-9k total saved up for my bike. Might as well get something really nice, rather than throw away my hard earned money now and getting something old. It's not like I have much more time to ride in this season anyway. Its almost sept.

Hey, congrats and welcome to the sport. Did you take the course in Brockton, MA?

Hm... I think you should get a cheap used bike to ride for the next 2 to 2.5 months, sell it over the winter, and than save up to get what you want next year. Just my thoughts.

I think you should get a literbike, ride it on temporary plates for 15 days, remove two of the spark plugs, sell it, buy a harley, ride it for 14 hours, crash it, paint it pink, sell it, buy back the literbike, remove the remaining two spark plugs and go up two teeth in the rear, push the literbike around your neighborhood until the first dove of spring, roll it into a ditch, buy a 600, ride that until it gets dark outside, sell it, buy a V-twin, and keep it in your garage under a tarp until it becomes a collectors item.

But that's just what *I'd* do. You gotta ride your own ride, ya know...

Congrats on completing the course. Where did you take it?

I took the course over a year ago. I knew how to ride prior to taking the course. I took the course for a confidence builder. It was great. They teach you things you would never think of.

I took the class in Bourne MA, it was a lot of fun, and really informative. As for what bike I'm going to get...

    I have no idea.

    I like R6 CBR600F4 GSXR 600

Or a CBR929 <---- prolly not gonna get this for first bike though

    Will see

    Here's a sweet 600 for ya!

I just got a much bigger machine, this was my first bike and loved it, still love it. I put 500 awesome miles on it this past weekend!

If you have $3K now we can work a payment thing out for the remainder and you can ride now!!! We can discuss the price!

    Here's the link to it.

Once again it is proven how under rated the YZF600R is, I invite anyone that can afford to fix/replace it if they crash it to take this thing out!

Who saw me ripping up the tar on Saturday? Can my 600 hang throught the corners???? Or am I just dreaming how fast I was riding?

I was going to say nice to meet ya before, but forget it now.

ANYWAYS THE BIKE IS OFF THE MARKET. I am keeing it!
I figured I will want it for long VT trips, where as the RC will kill my back! plus If I do give a foxy mama a ride that the RC has no rear pegs and I am not putting them on nor the seat. The YZF is much better for comfort for myself and passenger. So I can also use the YZF for track days!!!

If ya think about it, 33,000 miles may sound high for a bike, but if you break it down, I got the bike in 98 with 4 miles on it. So average it out to 03' & it's less than 6,000 miles a year. thats really not much! As long as it runs strong, which mine does. You wouldn't know that buying used though.. Thats the only thing about buying used, you really never know the true history, unless you know the person well and trust them! It's always nice to buy new and get a Factory Warrenty!

Good Luck in your search Boris, Post any quetions you may have to help you make the right decision when the time comes. People here will be more than happy to offer up advice!!

First piece of advise. "Sticky side down" Always...

    Mike
