Was that course just for new TraningWheels instructors or for the whole state?

The sponsors pay for and run the class...often they combine efforts..this last time I think only Training Wheels had candidates.

I think I have to pay to do this, which is no big deal as it is something I want to do anyways. This is what was sent to me.

"Recently our state manager told me we would be looking to do a
    coach/instructor preparation in July/August.
Cost is $500; workshop is about 80 hours/8 days; you should/must
spend 3 weekends with us prior to workshop "shadowing" the basic course for
familiarity and recognition of the total "environment" (you want to
be sure this will be comfortable for you as well as help prepare for
    the workshop)."

Is this how most get started out in this? I am looking forward to getting back home & getting in touch w/ them!

They started charging so that candidates had some skin in the game. You make that back pretty quickly once you start working.

I can deal with the 500 bucks, it is something I WANT to do. I can see why they want to charge and it is fine with me...

And they started refunding the $500 to some and not others for reasons only the schools know.

    Re: RidersCoach Program

So I did my first day today as a "RAT" or Range Aid Technician - was really rainy but had a blast. I owe Biggity for helping me get involved with the program and I can't wait for the next class.

We did an experienced rider course today and it amazed me how much improvement riders made during the day. These were guys that had been riding for some time, and little things like looking through corners, and proper weight compensation really changed their overall outlook on low speed maneuvers. Definitely made being out in the cold rain very much worth it!

Again thanks to Biggity and I will keep posting up on my progress. I will most likely be a Range Aid for at least the majority of this summer. But it will be so worth it in the long run!

    Very cool!

I was on the range this weekend, too. Luckily I was C1 so I was only outside for yesterday till lunch time, then I got to go inside, dry out and warm up. Great class, though. They did awesome.

Glad to hear you got out there and got some experience!

    Re: RidersCoach Program

    Anyone still doing this?

My friend received an email from Training Wheels looking for Rider Coaches. He forwarded the email to me and I just submitted the application. Now the waiting game...

What is it like out there for new MSF RC nowadays? Has the cost of $500 changed? Is it tougher or easier to make it out there?
