Riding <50cc scooter from MA into NH

Let's say I want to ride a <50cc scooter from MA into NH.

It seems that both states have the same regulations as far what constitutes a scooter.
    • It must have an engine of 50 ccs (cubic centimeters) or less.
It cannot exceed 30 MPH on level terrain.
      It cannot shift.
It cannot exceed 2 horsepower. <- this being the sole difference.

    Would this be OK?

Why not its Legal in MA...........has paper work as any other vehicle.

What would be worse is a DirtBike CR250/CR500 plated. That in MA will prob cause a huge stink though. As its a True OFF road bike

I'm pretty sure no cop is going to pull you over and put you on a dyno to measure power output. As long as it looks below 50cc and has all the appropriate paperwork, they're not gonna care in NH.

I'm relatively new to New England, but it seems to me that pretty much anything that is legal in Massachusetts(which isn't a great deal of things) will be legal in NH.

But does your town have a race track?

Seriously though, Massachusetts is nowhere near my first choice for living in New England. It just happens to be where the pay is in my field.

I looked in southern VT when I took this job, but even just over the border would have been an hour commute. No thanks!

Just saw this story, seems apropos, very nice pic at link : Police issue annoyed press release after pot arrest

HAMPSTEAD, N.H. (AP) — A New Hampshire police department has issued a public service announcement with an odd mug shot after a man was arrested with marijuana in his car.

Hampstead police said in a release Monday, "as a public service announcement — it is illegal to possess recreational marijuana in New Hampshire, even if you only 'smoke it in Massachusetts.'"

WMUR-TV reports (Danville man caught with pot in car, police say ) the announcement came after the arrest of 27-year-old Selket Taylor, who was pulled over for using his cellphone while driving.

Police say they arrested Taylor after they saw he had a bag of marijuana in a cup holder.

Taylor has been charged with possession of a controlled drug, transporting a controlled drug in a motor vehicle and use of an electronic mobile device. In his arrest photo, Taylor is sticking out his tongue while his eyes are closed and arms are crossed.
Unfortunately perpetuating the cannabis connoisseurs lack of couth, as well as stealth....

So it sounds like I won't have to get another sticker for my scoot if I roll over the border. But I will need to bring a card so if I want to roll spliff.
