    3 lane :

middle = 1/3 left and 1/3 right depending on the flow of traffic... Middle = blind to the left and right lanes
in the right lane = Left 1/3 of the lane

Its all about visibility and putting yourself in the right spots. i think there is book about this... RITZ
so, tell me, how do you see beyond that SUV or van in front of you if yer not hugging the yellow line ?

how does oncoming traffic about to make a left turn, see you, when your hiding in traffic

In a straight line if you put yourself where driver in a car would be you should be fine seeing beyond the vehicle in front of you and oncoming traffic should see you- if they're paying attention.

    Re: Riding the center line

I ride in whatever part the pavement is smoothest and in best shape. As for not being seen by other drivers, I figure they're always doing multiple other things instead of paying attention anyways, so I'm always prepared to have someone pull out into me. More times then not I see people coming around a corner atleast half into the other lane if not more, I wonder if the state has enough of a budget to put electric fence up on the double yellow and require drivers to where shock collars!!!!!! When I have a large van or truck infront of me, I just back off and keep about twice the distance between us as I would have with a small car, if I have to be behind them that is.
