The long and short...

Friday, Oct. 24th: Departed VT at 2:30pm
Fantastic drive through NJ, PA, VA, and NC...Jersey scared Kyle...

Saturday, Oct. 25th: Arrived in Tenn. at 7:30am
-Had a delicious pancake breakfast, geared up, and took off up Smokey Mountain!
-Did a few Recon Laps on the Dragon...rode behind a noob on a 600RR, got some good laughs from the HD cruisers.
-Explored the Foothills Parkway, and Rt321
-Returned to Base, checked in, passed out, showed up at a BBQ place 20min till closing and had the most delicious BBQ ever...kinda.

Sunday, Oct. 26th: Slayed the Dragon
-Another delicious Pancake Breakfast!
-Rt129 baby, all day...till Kyles F2 decided to blow its head gasket.
-TimmyB and Kyle found a really nice groove, Tim was tearin through some sections where Kyle set up to the Honda cool down. Great pics and video footage!

Monday, Oct. 27th: Departed TN at 10:00am

Tuesday, Oct. 28th: Arrived home in VT at 2:45am
-And then looked up photos of Deals Gap for a few hours

Freakin awesome spur of the moment Road Trip...thanks TimTim, sorry for rubbing it in Jake...Def. worth the drive, though next year we will NOT go during the weekend. TN Staties were everywhere on Saturday, and the amount of inexperienced riders trying to be hero's was scary. Cagers were generally polite, no issues at all with people running wide on corners, and no Mack Trucks!

The Road is everything we thought it would be, tests ya fosho. Lots of other great rides out there too...Rt129 is great, but because of the equipment failure we did not get the chance to explore on Sunday afternoon like we had planned to do. No worries though, its not a good trip without pushing a bike behind a gas station and gettin her set to make the last 15miles back to the Hotel !

I would usually ride the Gap on the weekdays and hit the lesser known roads on the weekend (too many THP and squids at the Gap on the weekend)

Nice pics though. It's definitely a nice time riding down there. While I did get some strange looks when the southerners heard my yankee accent, and did get pulled over for "possum" (good ol boy southern sherrif, he really meant PASSING, but it came out sounding like possum...I was like wtf, there's no possum smooshed in the road)....it was a kickass time. The latest thing with the cops down there though...ugh. Cali. Worth the trip.

Now remember kids, no POSSUM on solid yellow lines.

Next time go for a week! Like it is said rip the Dragon mid week when no squids or cops are fuckim it up. The weekends head off to Georgia or S. Carolina roads (Two wheels only and Wolfs Gap) Also worth the ride! Great choise for a last minute weekend trip! Well worth the ride!

Next time you plan on going let me know, I can give you a binch of other routes to check out as well as a few good places to eat! That BBQ in Robinsville is not too bad. The Pizza place sucks! The Chinese place sucked ass too!

The Snake US 421

The Cats Tail RT 181

both are very close to the Gap and not as well known...The Snake is very similar riding to the Gap only longer ( i think it's better) The Cats Tail is more long sweepers it's a real nice road 100+ MPH knee draggin corners one after the other ...you don't come across roads like it too often

I came around a corner at the Gap once draggin knee to a THP standing out of his car on the side of the road...he jumped in the road and flagged me over to the side. I stopped right away. he said you know thats against the law right?..i said yes i'm very sorry officer wont happen again
