    Riding Jeans

Anyone know a place that stocks these damn things? Or at least have a general idea on how they fit compared to regular jeans?

The fit is very close to loose fit regular jeans. I didn't like the knee armor it was too low. Nick, FFBUELL, on here rides in a pair. Nick comments???

    Re: Riding Jeans

Lengthwise they're pretty much always longer. I believe the Shift ones are 34" length. The knee armor generally lines up when you're sitting on the bike. Standing it will be too low. I have a pair of 32 dark blue shift jeans for sale for $50 brand new if anyone's interested. I think they were $70 or $80 but 15% restocking fee and postage would have been expensive to return. I ended up picking up 2 pairs of Red Route jeans from Cyclegear for $90 a pair. One pair is baggier and has CE knee armor, the other just has kevlar in the knees. The regular length ones are 31" inseam where as the long ones are 34" I think.

    Re: Riding Jeans

I've never really seen them stocked anywhere. Webbikeworld.com did a good write up on a few pairs. I'd pick the ones you think sound the safest and cruise EBay/manufacturers sites for a deal.

    Re: Riding Jeans

Never found a good local retailer.

I tried the Cortech Mod Denim jean (NewEnough). Not bad, but the knee armor is obnoxious and I just left it out. Never tried any other brands.

I normally wear a 32-33W/32L relaxed/lose fit jean from Gap. I had to go up to 34W/34L for the Cortech. The Cortech is still a bit snug up top vs. regular jeans; should be though. I went longer but 32L would also fit me. They fit very similar to Carhartt double-knee workpants as far as waist/ass goes (wear a 34W/30L in those). I'm 5'10-11", 165lbs.

    Re: Riding Jeans

I stock the Joe Rocket Steel Jeans. Also stock some of the Icon stuff.

Both fit like regular fit jeans. They do seem to run long like others have said. But they adjust to the proper place when sitting on the bike.

Richie tell me wat you want and what size.

    Re: Riding Jeans

I have a pair of black shift jeans. They are comfy and don't look too goofy. I haven't tested their protection qualities yet so I can't give any info there.

    Re: Riding Jeans

i have a pair of the icon jeans- got it from kneedraggers i think... whatever size you wear in jeans works for the icon ones- waist was a little tighter actually, but still fits well. They're a little longer, but the bottom tapers a little bit- it'll still fit well over boots but it won't get under the back of your shoe.

    Re: Riding Jeans

i have shift torque ones. they fit well, maybe my legs are just longer than average for my waist. kevlar lined but without any armor.

on the seldom days when i wear them, i have icon field armor under, and they're baggy enough that they accommodate the extra padding.

not sure how protective they are.

    Re: Riding Jeans

MOM's carries Shift riding jeans. If they are not on the floor yet, they are out back. The guys in parts showed them to me back in January and they still had the sled accessories out. I think they've started to rotate the spring stuff out though.
