    Riding in the SALT!

    Riding in the SALT!
All you folks south of the Mason Dixon line can disregard this post...:-)

But up here in New England we are now riding in SALT!

When you get the bike back to the barn there is usually a nice coat of aluminum eating salt on your bike.......Here is a product that should work wonders at removing it...........

    servlet not found

my experience is that salt will still corrode steel, but not modern aluminum alloys found on bikes.....however.. summer bug splats are a different story

    Riding in the SALT!

Lately there is very little salt on the roads here in MA.

I have had some major issues with salt corroding bicycle parts on my mountain bike.

I had a aluminum/Ti brake caliper bond together last year, and the year before that I had some straight aluminum ones totally freeze up.

One of these years I will stop being a dumbass and get some fenders.

The salt wouldn't do much damage to the bike because there is a lot of plastic, but think about the engine. So much salt can build up in there and you can never get to it to clean.

    Riding in the SALT!

The liquid they use on the roads in some communities is a by-product of brewing beer, is all natural and works as a fertilizer.

It was discovered by mistake in russia when the pond they were dumping the shit into never froze at the normal temp in the winter.

Ahhh, beer. What CAN'T it do??
