    Re: Riding weather

The 10-day forecast even up here in northern Vermont says every day is supposed to be above freezing.

    Re: Riding weather

When I want to know the forecast for rain or snow I look at the radar and figure it out myself. I find that it is more reliable than listening to those people than are ratings driven. If I had listened to their 10 day forecasts I would have only raced 2 weekends in the last two years. They do seem better at giving the temperature guessimates though.

    Re: Riding weather

Meteorologists can only really predict 3 days of forecast accurately. After that, it's more of a choose-your-own-adventure.

But I'm glad for any signs of spring at this point

I can predict that spring is coming. Followed by summer too.

Same down here too. I've been happy to walk outside and see slush. And less ice around.

Bring on the warm days and loaded logging trucks (to hammer the frost heaves down)

    Re: Riding weather

Bump, for a nice day today.. just got back from doing a quick loop around Cape Ann and it was great, I think weather like this is perfect when you are dressed right, only real downside is the face shield getting caked in road grime and having to hose down the bike upon return.

Saw a few other bikes out including a crew of 3 or 4 guys on various sport touring machines up in Gloucester. Also a few random people in cars beeping at me? Caged riders?...

    Re: Riding weather

Not sure yet.. just put a post up.

Probably another 600cc since mine was a Katana.. a little heavy and underpowered... I was looking at 93-97rr's when I was looking before.. and really like them. Everyone told me not to buy it, and I kinda wish I did

R6's seem to be the new sexy bike to get.. but most are going to be out of my price range.. the wife is going to kill me if I end up spending more money har har..

    Re: Riding weather

Well.. I wanted to spend around $1500 to $2000 so I can have a conscience.. More money and I'll be in the dog house I saw a bunch of 02 cbr r6 etc at the end of the season going for that price... so I figure they are 6 months older now, should be able to find it eventually.

If not, I can wait until the end of this season and consider it again. I'm expecting my first kid in July, so I'm thinking most of my season is going to be over except when I want to go out for a little air...

    Re: Riding weather

i rode to work this morning, frost heaves on my rd in the woods of westminster are so bad i had to stand up until i got downtown. i got air off one of them, at least under the rear.

on/off ramps were a bit icy, i had to take them slow until the sun cleaned them up a couple hours later for my ride home.

nine times out of ten its an electric razor, but...every once in a while...its a dildo. of course its company policy never to imply ownership in the event of a dildo, we have to use the indefinite article "a" dildo ...and not..."your"...dildo...

Before I saw your budget I was going to suggest a Ducati 749 or 748...most people think, due to past history, that Ducs are expensive. In reality the prices have come down to ridiculous levels due to the economy. You can pick up a mint 748 for right around 5k (if you look hard enough you can find a few in the 4k range) and a 749 for around 6k..

    Re: Riding weather

Yeah.. if I was looking at a 4 or 5K range I'd be going straight to a dealer

Naw, this year I have to start buying baby stuff, so I can't be spending the tax refund on fancier toys.
