    What a Rip-off

How bad is it when you call a shop to get a tired repaired and they give you a price and when you drop it off the price is more. If anyone wants to get ripped off and pay $55 to have a rear tire changed (I also took the tire only to them) then go to Ricks Motorcycles. They give you a price and when you pick it up its $20 more. Its sad that I can have 4 37" tires mounted and balanced for the same price. WTF!

His custom made Mercruiser stern drive alignment tool, replacement roto-tiller tine shaft, and custom bronze bushings are excellent too. He's a true renaissance man.

    Re: What a Rip-off

Mike is the way to go...

Having said that, a motorcycle dealer or service shop, would like you to buy the tires from them. If you don't they make up their margin on the service. $55 seems a little high if you brought the tire and wheel 'off' the bike, but it's not as outrageous as you believe.

Indeed...it used to be that a lot of dealers wouldn't even mount tires bought elsewhere. Maybe thats changes...

I did that the first two changes using my bumper and 2x4's as a lever.. until I about knocked all my teeth out and busted my lip.. the 35 bucks on the breaker was worth every penny. Takes longer to set it up than to break the bead now.
