I really didn't know Dave other than meeting him very briefly at the Bettencourts Auction in November. I do know that Eric and Jeff spoke very very highly of him and you couldn't be involved in New England racing without seeing the Bettencourt's name somewhere.

R.I.P.. I remember reading about them a long time ago in some connection or another with Kenny Roberts, Spencer, and Lawson.
Some measure of greatness seems to run through the family..did he leave kids behind?

We hardly met, think I talked to him all of three times, but I could tell he was a great guy & loved the sport. Wish I coulda gotten to know him better.
