my stomach is been a mess all day cause of this.. the riders reaction after is just so strong you can just feel that this is going to change things..
idk why or how this would happen. it requires so many things to go wrong at the same time for this result to come along..

    Sad...

Even sadder that MotoGP is so unpopular in the US that USA Today's headline said he died in a motocross race. Idiots.

the saddest thing about this is that THIS will make MotoGP popular in the states.. from the business prespective americans want the element of danger and possible fatalities in their sports. thats the only reason why Nascar is so big here..
so maybe this will create more fans here

RIP. Terrible terrible news. I did watch the crash on tube after toying with whether to or not. I think Rossi will retire now. I believe it was his front wheel that killed poor Marco. Just a first impression. I'll save my other comments on this for a while out of respect.

Ozzy said the same thing about thinking that Rossi's front well hit Marco's head. I saw it differently, I thought that Rossi was hit by Colin's bike. Either way, what an awful situation all around.

Edwards and Rossi are not at fault since Simoncelli crossed their race lines but one thing is for sure that Edwards and Rossi will probably never be the same whether or not they choose to keep riding.

Really sucks to lose a rising star in the sport. At least he went out doing what he loved.

I truly hope both Colin and Vale continue racing... but this will obviously have a very impact on both riders. My heart goes out to them.

If I was Rossi I would retire. Marco was a good friend of his.

This makes no sense to me. Friend or not he has to believe and be told this was not his fault, which it wasn't. Those around him need to encourage him to continue being who he is.

This makes no sense to me.
Yeah, I understand that Rossi probably has a heavy heart today, but the best way to pay tribute to a man who lived his life and died for the sport he loved is not for the greatest rider in the history of that sport to retire. Unfortunately the risk is one all riders accept when they commit to this career. Rossi did not cause the accident, nor could he have prevented it.

Not saying it was his fault, just saying I would hang it up and honor my friend if I was toward the end of my career, had a poor year with Ducati and had a friend die that close to me on the track.

I can see both Rossi and Edwards putting in some serious thought about retiring. I don't want them to but I wouldn't blame them at all.

Colin was in pain. Last I heard they had to sedate him in order to put his shoulder back in place.

both I think. he was walking around in obvious pain then looked over and you can almost read his mind on how bad he felt.

After watching the accident... Waiting for the news if he was okay seemed to take forever. For those of you who were up watching the race this morning will never forget the emotional torture as we sat and waited.

What a terrible, terrible shame. My heart goes out to Simoncelli's friends, family, and team, and also very much to Colin Edwards and Valentino Rossi. As much as this accident wasn't their fault, they must both be absolutely devastated.

I make it a point to watch the race as it happens. They tend to spoil the results if you wait. The wait was not enjoyable at all especially since they showed the crash a few times and the announcers were pretty much silent.
