Just don't like being called a liar......
If I was going to lie I would have said that I asked him if he wanted to go double or nothing...... :teehee::teehee:
Bill. Now THAT is funny...:lolup:

I don't get what the problem is for some people on this forum, a well respected member who has been on here since 05 posts up a story and it gets questioned why??
Perhaps because he mentioned that the guy wasn't wearing gear, and those that don't wear gear constantly feel the need to defend it, and don't like stories that show it's worth?
I took more away from the story that there are far too many BAD riders out there giving sport bikers a bad reputation still.
Win, or crash trying... c'mon this kid's got heart!
he was on a hurricane600 wasn't he...
Woah...talk about blowing a comment out of proportion. Never called you a liar, first off. Two...not defending squids in anyway, not really sure where you got that from, Matt? All I was saying was the wording didn't seem natural to be a real conversation and I'm surprised that someone would come up and just say that right off the bat.
This is a post...on an online forum...in a general bike related section...some embellishing is natural. If it's real and exactly as was said happened, great. Everybody take a chill pill before the lynching starts. Really wasn't trying to offend anyone.
I think I must have met his twin at Mid gap last weekend....
If you ride in that area enough, you will see the exact people Jake described. After having done so, I wouldn't doubt Jakes story even if it came from Kingcast.
And by enough, I mean one nice Saturday. Stop at the aforementioned spring where he talked to the aforementioned douche, hang out 30 mins...that's all it would take.
Definitely watch out for the police, the last time I was out that way I ran it twice and passed two troopers running blues and tunes in the direction of t road.
Yeah, it's not wise to assume that just because the average NESR rider has clue, that the same can be said for the others. Most of us here are two-wheel scholars to some degree or another and it's easy to forget how little some of the squids know and how stupid they can act.
Next time you teach class, you really should collect the tuition in advance.
:spit:
I can't believe you ddnt go back and get your $20.oo , that's almost a full tank of gas !
And why didn't you pass him and show him your lines ? Maybe he wouldn't have lowsided and donated blood.
Actually, now that I've seen the story played out in an animation, it does seem believable.
Sorry I doubted you, Uncle Snake.
Sorry dude, wasn't trying to blow you up. Your first post just came off as "yeah...right" and in light of the gear threads lately it all seemed timely. BUT I didn't say you were defending squids, I implied you were commenting on the gear portion of the story. I've ridden and hung out with you guys, so that definitely wouldn't be a fair comment. Even if you do own a harley ...
Funny. I'll slow down after mashing the go-tube on corner exit, cause everyone knows you haven't lived until accelerated out of a corner with an SV thou. Then I drop the hammer to get up to speed on corner entry.
I MUS BE CRAZY OR SUMTHIN!
On a side note, I almost got myself killed on my ride in to work the other day. Being late and watching the Isle of Mann TT the night before - eh - not a good mix. I wheelied off this knoll on north road at s i x t y f i v e to find myself facing someone pulling out of their driveway. Lucky for me, he/she either heard me coming or instinctively stopped. Now I'm down to like only 6 lives and 8 pairs of underwear. Yikes.
Wirelessly posted (HTC EVO "DROID" )
I've lived then :DQuote:
