    Road rotors vs. Race Rotors

    Hi all,

I just bought new front rotors for my CBR F3. The olds stock ones were out of spec. The new ones are EBC Road Race Brake Rotors. They came with a little piece of paper stating that they are not for Highway Use / Race Use Only.

They are the type with Circlips and say that the will need me to install new buttons after some time when the rotor shrinks.

So does that mean I should send them back? Its mainly for riding on the road and occassional track days. Why would you not be able to ride on the
road what's capable of working on the track? I also have EBC HH pads to go with them. Can I ride them on the street if I am good about checking the buttons?

any feedback on this is appreciated... I'm new to fixing up my bike and maybe
    I shouldn't install them? -Akira

Dont quote me on this. But I would guess it is not DOT approved, there for technically not for road use. Weather or not it would be fine I am not sure.

They are fine (I doubt anyone during inspection will look).

I used that combo for years when racing.

They will rattle a little, but don't let that scare you. I wish my new CBR600RR had the full floaters.

Let me know if you need help assembling them or changing the buttons down the road.

    Thanks Tony.

I'm gonna keep 'em. I got a good deal on 'em from Street and Competition ($159 each). I ordered them on Tuesday at
2pm and got them Wed afternoon. UPS Ground from NY. Awesome knowledgable sales people too.

Can't wait to get them on and get out to the track ! Got new tires to mount too (Pilot Powers)

    Its like Christmas !

Im running Brembo FULL floating rotors...they're FINE! If they are "new" to you... get the micrometer and just make sure they are within spec thickness. Otherwise enjoy the season.
