In Poland?

Looks like I'm going to be traveling to Krakow in a couple weeks for a couple weeks.

While I'm there it appears as if there's going to be a long weekend due to Easter, so I'm looking into renting a bike for the weekend and doing some traveling.

Any recommendations welcome.

I sent an email to some bikers at our facility in Poland. This is one reply I just got. Keep in mind that English is not the primary language of these guys:

Krakow is located near the Tatry mountain and there is a nice places and few interesting roads (especially roads around the mountain, something around that one http://goo.gl/maps/7GVCH ) . Here you have a page created by bilkers who are adding most interesting roads for motobikers http://moto-nawigator.pl/ It is in polish language, but I think this is not a problem (google translator knows polish language )

One problem I'm seeing is a weahter in poland. I dont know when exactly your collegue will be here but the weather for biking is starting late April ... also there is not so many Rental Companies with motorbikes, so if he is interested in, he has to book a bike earlier.

Temperatures... Yea, less than ideal. Based on what I've found for March I'm looking at
Average temperature: 7ºC / 45ºF
Average high: 11ºC / 52ºF
Average low: 3ºC / 37ºF
and for April
Average temperature: 13ºC / 55ºF
Average high: 17ºC / 63ºF
Average low: 8ºC / 46ºF

Of course these are averages, and with all weather it is what it is. I'm considering packing my heated glove and coat liners as well.

Please tell your contacts thank you very much for the routes. I was really looking at the "mountains" to the south of Krakow as an interesting opportunity. I've also been considering things like Romania as possible "out and back" destinations (Romania is a positive as it's to the south, but a negative, with higher elevations).

I have some emails out for Bike rentals, but haven't heard back yet (although they did say 48 hours and they are still in their time limit). If they happen to know of any local dealers that do rentals I'd be happy to hear about them.
