I figured since I got a new bike, and I'm not going to get many more bearably warm days, I better get some seat time in on the R1.
There was a little danger as I approached the driveway to the office though....I nearly drove right by, continuing on to Route 17.....![]()
Who else rode in today???
You know it! Best riding season of the year IMO.
But when we ride very fast motorcycles, we ride with immaculate sanity. We might abuse a substance here and there, but only when it's right. The final measure of any rider's skill is the inverse ratio of his preferred Traveling Speed to the number of bad scars on his body. It is that simple: If you ride fast and crash, you are a bad rider. If you go slow and crash, you are a bad rider. And if you are a bad rider, you should not ride motorcycles.
I rode last night till around midnight.....

Vermont must be an awful lot colder than wherever you two are, because my nuts would have frozen to the tank if I rode last night.![]()

I think my temp gauge dipped into the 30s this morning.
I didn't wear my heated jacket to ride into work, but it is only 10 miles & I took back roads instead of the highway.
Definitely wouldn't want to be without the heated jacket for a longer ride in these temps though.
I did 200 miles sunday and was pretty comfy but I was totally bundled up and had all the electric stuff maxxed out most of the time.
Ben
Isn't it awesome? Even into the 50s the liner is really making it easier to ride & makes you much more comfortable.Originally posted by TheIglu

Seems to keep me happier too.. I never get frustrated even if I'm getting rained on.

Hopefully motomkt will have some Gerbing's that fit me in stock this weekend... Can't wait!Originally posted by TheIglu

The people in my office are now let down if I dont ride in. I work with 9 women in my office who when I dont ride the bike they seem depressed. They all say that the way that they know when winter is here is when I give up riding for the season. It wont be long now though because even with the mile of riding I get in before getting on storrow drive, my new 208's still seem to want to slide out from under me. The sucky part is they start gripping pretty much right when I pull into the parking lot at work. BOOOOOO!
Arguing on the internet is like winning a gold medal in the special olympics......whether you win or lose you are still retarded!
Clayton it's saweeeet no? I love mine. Now I just wish I had the pants.Originally posted by TheIglu

I rode to school today, all 2.5 miles from south campus to north campus. I rode for a little while last night around 11 and froze my sack off. I was pretty cold riding from boston to lowell on sunday in the rain but it wasn't too bad. Last night was unbearable.

What are you guys wearing for gear now? I want to ride, but I'm afraid my pussy will shrivel up.
Yup.
5 out of the last 7 days..
I don't have a big commute but I've probably put on 500 miles in the last week at least.
All you have to do is wear FULL gear.
I am not using my heated jacket for commuting at all this week. (Not even using my nice pants either.. just my cheesy joe rocket ones)
Ben
it was 25 out last night here....bbbbrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Bras cause cancer.
I wear my leather jacket with the liner zipped in, with a short and long sleeved shirt. I do my usual jeans and boots for my legs.

Rode into work...29 degrees when I left. It reached 33 by the time I got to work. (an hour later)
I need some heated gear...it was a little chilly.
Anyone know the wind chill factor if it's 29 degrees out and a 75 mph wind ?
though about riding the weather's mint here.............
Nice bike POOCH.
