    Long Way Round

I read the book years ago, but I ad wanted to see the movie.

Just finished the second episode (of 10, I think they were made for TV). Anyway, Im diggin it.

I don't care that the trip itself is not as realistic given he support they had, both in man power and finances, its still friggen cool and makes me want to do something like that.

Maybe if its nice out Ill take a ride with a friend to Starbucks......IN NEWTON!

    Re: Long Way Round

I read the book as well...and found the movie just as entertaining. Can't really say the same for the Long Way Down...

HOWEVER, if you enjoyed this you really should read Jupiters Travels by Ted Simon. He traveled around the world on a Triumph in the 70's. And his writting is poetic. Along the lines of The Perfect Vehicle by Melissa Holbrook Peirson.

I actually liked the Long Way Down better(the full DVD version)....more of the open dirt road stuff.... might be - alot of Africa reminds me of riding the outback of Australia

I really enjoyed LWR, but I didn't get as into LWD. LWR felt so much more epic and varied than LWD did.

    Both are worth watching though.

    Re: Long Way Round

I enjoyed both of them and I've found it's a great way to explain the appeal of riding a bike to my non-riding friends.

Unfortunately, none of them have gotten past the first episode. Which might explain why they don't ride...

    Re: Long Way Round

I own both versions of "Long Way Round" as well as "Long Way Down".

I enjoyed LWR a bit more than LWD due to a greater sense of adventure the lads had while on the journey.
LWD seemed more like a long ride, cool just the same.

I just finished it up. Great stuff. very inspiring.

I downloaded the first 4 off their website (2 bucks a pop) and then got the second disk from netflix.

So who wants to take a trip?
