Good route to portland...

I'm probably heading up on the bike to portland on monday, wondering if there's a good way to head up that way that might avoid some of the major highways but still make decent time. Normally I'd take 101E to 95N to the maine tpk and make it in about 2 hours, would like to do the trip in 2.5 or so but maybe make it a bit less slab?

Well,

You could take RT 1N but that will take you very close to 2.5..

RT 1n is a good ride if you like small towns.. It has a few twisty'zzzzz

I took 202 up a couple of weeks ago.
OK road.
Some nice twisted parts.
