Did they try to make it as ugly as possible?
Reminds me of the old Honda Trans Alp that was imported to the US a while back. This one is probably alot like that one, ugly as sin but a very effective motorcycle.
i think the picture is an older version, in the article it seems to say that noone is sure what it will look like
Yeah, that pic is the old one....

Doesn't even say it's coming at all, never mind what it looks like! Although, following the click-thru, I was checking out the new V-Strom 1000 Concept. I think I'd dig that in a 650 size...
Did you grit your teeth and try to look like Clint Fuckin' Eastwood?
Or did you lisp it all hangfisted like a fuckin' flower?
You aren't familiar with this whole 'adventure' bike thing, are you? Ugly is a design goal.
Ha, I did the same thing. Although I was wondering if they'd improved the engine and made a compelling reason to go for the 1k instead of the 650. The article mentions nearly nothing about the 1k's mill. So I am guessing no.
This is actually a bit too ugly for me. Also seems like a Versys rip.

It's a new engine. The reason they did away with the old V-Strom 1000 is that the engine could no longer meet emissions regs. So this one's redesigned, though it's unclear to what extent.
The bike pictured is a concept bike. Suzuki did announce more recently that they're putting a new V-Strom 1000 into production, and it'll probably be very close to that concept, but I don't think the actual production bike has been unveiled yet.
