From what I've heard RC's are notorious for running hot, don't worry about it. I highly doubt it has fans on both sides, but I don't have one. I just like them.

Yes they run hot. 220 is normal to see. Some years have 2 fans and some have one. Have you been to RC51.com . All of your questioned will be answered by searching the forums there.

One fan on left side ( Clutch side ) 200-225 is normal!
Dump your coolant and refill it with Engine Ice. That will keep it consitantly around 200-210.

    Completely normal!

just wait until youre waiting in traffic. Mine hasnt run over 180 this year while moving but as soon as I stop the temp goes up. A few people have hit 245 on their rc. So youre set at 200.

    200 is the new 180.

I have a rental Subarban for the business trip I am on and it runs "normally" at 210 on the guage. Really nice rig too...

The radiators on the RC51 are in the wrong place to be efficient. Race RC51's often have a conventional radiator fitted on the front of the engine. The fan usually kicks in at 218 I believe. Water and water wetter will make it run at about 180, as will engine ice.
