    Saddle Bags?

Am looking for some small saddle bags for my 86 GSXR. Will already be wearing a backpack and need some extra storage. What do you guys recommend?

I found these but don't know about quality.

    Thanks!

I recommend (from experience) soft saddlebags are a bitch on bikes with high(er) mount pipes. I recommend you get a tankbag. Or if you really need more storage, a Givi.

    Tail bag and/or tank bag.

Even the smallest side bags can be impossible to fit to some sport bikes.

    Re: Saddle Bags?

I have all Tour Master Cortech bags that are about 5 years old now.

Other than a few of the zipper tassle things fraying and falling off I have no qualms about the Cortech products.

    Re: Saddle Bags?

I've had good luck with my nelson rigg tankbag. It's magnetic, which I like as it comes on and off easily. Some people say they scratch the tank, but you just have to be a bit careful about dirt under the magnets. It's not very big, but it holds a change of clothes or a pair of shoes and stays out of my way. They make bigger ones, just depends on the tank size and how low your bars are as to how obtrusive they'll be but you'd be surprised how large a tankbag you can get on there and barely notice it...

Tailpacks are a bit trickier, you want to consider the mounting arrangement and your specific bike. I bought one that I thought would work and ended up breaking one of the straps because the reach to a suitable mount point was too far. But bergs is right, they are a whole lot easier to deal with than saddlebags and cheaper than a hard locking case (which you may not be able to get proper mounts for such an old bike anyway).
