    Old School

1986 GSX R1100. I bought one new in 86', so it's a little sureal to have one back in the garage again. Gives me goose bumps...

Not 100% but a good place to start restoration. Runs and drives great. Brakes and trans and clutch smooth. Gas tanks is like new, left farings are great. I thinks the rims are off a 88'. A common upgrade in the day. It needs a new front cowl and stay, right side farings and a few other bits... I would like to find a stock exhaust but the Yosh is in good shape, just needs a polish. It still has the stock air box! All of the inner faring bits are still there, the seat looks like it was never sat on. Shit, it still has the rubber bumper that holds the license plate off the fender!

Got it from a guy who traded it for a Farmhall tractor who traded a Case loader for the Farmhall!

Looking for plastics, so if anyone know of anyone that has them, hook me up. I'll pay top dollar for high quality parts.

    Still looking for a 85' GSX R750, 86' 750 ltd. RG250, RG500 and a GSX R50...

Very cool, I have had a few of the air/oil gixxers including an '88 7/11. I'll always have a soft spot for those machines.

    Re: Old School

Very nice. As gixer jock said...you done good. And the right side doesn't look bad at all, at least in the pics.

I'm still holding out for an RGV250

Below is a pic of my 94 750...wish I still had that in the hanger.

Also is a pic of said gixxer 50. It's not mine tho

I remember when I was really young, sitting on one at the local shop in White River VT. They had 3-4 of them sitting outside, brand new. Wondered what it would be like riding one, I thought it was so cool... a "rice rocket" for kids. That was back when I was too small for an 80cc dirt bike, had to go with a KX-60.

    Congrats on the 1100 tho

my first bike was an '89 Ninja 600R and I always appreciated the styling and fun factor of 80's sport bikes...nice find!

Wow nice find. If you ever come across some plastics for my 86 1100 that don't quite meet your standards let me know haha.

    Re: Old School

where were you guys when I was selling my RGV250?
It was almost a complete bike. Was missing some parts, but nothing that couldn't have been salvaged from a rs250.
