    School me: Coleman mini bikes

Half seriously looking at the CT200U mini bikes at Tractor Supply for leaving on my in-laws' farm.

I often see them used on FB but sometimes with bald tires and swapped engines.

What do I need to know about these things?

What's the difference between a bolt and a screw?
First you screw, then you bolt.

That just brought me back to the early 1970's. Chain falling off, burning leg on exhaust, blistered hands from pull starter. Ah to be 9 again! But I bet you could have some laughs riding around a field.

I have ridden one when it was fairly new , very fun .

Lack of suspension can give you some spine shutters riding it WOT.

2 years later the young man that owned it , killed it from neglect and lack of intelligence.

Super fun, as long as you're not expecting a real dirt bike. That also says the do 19mph...my 80cc Predator does 35mph, which is miserable off road with no suspension.

You could also spend a few bucks more and get a 125cc Chinese pit bike with full suspension and probably twice that top speed

skip it, build your own from GoPowerSports.com or find a vintage frame and add a modern motor if you want to go simple like that ... i got deep into the rigid mini scene for local drag/ice racing a few years back, and had a few as a kid in the early '80s. if the ground is uneven and lumpy at the farm, look for some fat tire frames.

i'm on the verge of building another for my boys. anything store bought as a complete kit like the Coleman is going to let you down power and drive wise. very minor tweaks needed to make it better but you'll end up gutting it in the end. my last two minis did over 50mph easy.

BUT, also agree a pitbike would be best if the farm is really rutted up and truly 'off road' ... speaking of, i may sell our 2020 Thumpstar TSX 125-C BW if you go that route. i'm local to you.

I was checking those coleman 200s out just today. They are selling for a grand at my local tractor supply though. They did have a few clearance 100 models.
I could see myself using the 200 in the woods on unmade trails or maybe to haul chainsaws and stuff out to clear trails but thats about it.

I've wanted one for so long but I've been unwilling to spend the money on it having never had the opportunity to even ride one. Even used ones that pop up around here go for over $3K.

To my untrained eye that Coleman looks like it would be almost unstoppable except for deep deep mud. I'm not sure if a rokon would be worth it if your just gonna be out in fields and trails.

Those tires look big enough that you could air them down quite a bit for "suspension."

Rokons are a lot of $$$$$. Is it worth it for proven 2wd, 60% grade capability, you could store one in a cellar, and ride it in and out thru the bulkhead. if it was Chinese manufacturing, no way, I've seen with my own eyes how they are built. Had an opportunity to get one at employee cost a few years back, should have taken advantage
