Joanne fabric, a stapler and some patients. I paid about $100 to have one done and it looks like crap. A few months back I did another one myself for about $40 that looks better than factory and I still have enough fabric left over to do about 8 more seats.

A lot of auto upholstery shops do bike seats as well. I use Allen Auto Trim in Peabody, but that's probably not convenient to SS.

    Re: seat upholstrey?

I recovered the seat on My shadow using a cover I ordered on Ebay for 40 bucks. Was pre-cut to fit the seat on the bike and fit like a glove.

Just type in "(bike make model, year) seat cover" on the ebay search.

Just a tip, if you do plan on re-covering the seat yourself, make sure you have a good stapeler, electronic or air. Manual ones won't work. Althoug if you have a steel seat pan it's another story.

I've done several seat covers with good results. If you're looking for a basic re-cover, PM me. I have good quality material and some experience.

    Re: seat upholstrey?

You can get ready made seat covers for a lot of bikes that are excellent quality for relatively short money. I recovered my '78 CB750 about 5 years ago and it was better than new. They're very easy to put on.

If you are looking for something fancy or maybe an exotic fabric. They also modify the padding and made the seats more comfortable.
