    Securing Expensive Helmets?

Im just curious to know what you guys do with your helmets when you get off your bike. If your destination is a building then yea you'll obviously bring it inside.

My concern is if you are going someplace where you'll be outside and away from your bike, there's nothing stopping a person from walking up to your bike and taking your helemt.

If I had a helmet running $400 and up, I'd be kind of paranoid about just leaving my helmet hanging on my handlebars.

    What do you guys do?

Carry it. I just take it with me, it sucks sometimes but it is better than worrying about it or coming back and having it gone

    Securing Expensive Helmets?

I have a helmet lock and i will occasionally use it if I can't keep the helmet with me.

If I am at a gathering with tons of other motorcyclists, I don't really worry about it. It seems rare for a motorcyclist to f*ck with another guys bike or gear, thankfully most of us are pretty nice people.

If I have my hard saddlebags on I can't use the helmet lock, but the helmet can go in the saddlebag. (Still I am screwed if the bags are full of clothes, etc..

I use the helmet lock under the seat. If it's not a pain to carry it, I'll carry it.

I've always used the helmet lock, but I have an HJC. If I paid over $400 for my helmet I would most likely carry it also.

I think one of your best bets to keep your helmet from being stolen is stay away from the race replica helmets.

So many people want the overpriced race rep helmets, what would you steal first? The cheaper helmet with an expensive paint job, or the expensive helmet with a plain paint job?

Is it common for people to cut the strap of the helmet to steal it off your bike if it's locked? I've got an expensive Shoei, and usually lock it to the bike.

Knowing the stupidness of the squids, I'm sure they have no problem using the helmet with no strap.

or paying $20 for a new strap and having a $500 helmet. Sounds like an inviting deal.
