    securing a trailer

I just picked up a Kendon trailer. What do you guys recommend for locking the trailer to my car and the drawbar to the car?

My Kendon has a single cable instead of dual chains - I've used a good padlock to lock the safety cable directly to my hitch.

You can buy locking pins for the drawbar. Also does the tongue have the holes cut through to padlock the head onto the ball through the lever?

Careful with those locking drawbar pins. Never leave them in over winter, otherwise you'll probably need a case of penetrating oil, a torch, and a pry-bar to get it off come spring.

That goes for any pin, as well as the drawbar itself as well unless you greased it.

I left the drawbar in my Cherokee hitch for 3 years, during which time I launched my sailboat probably 10 times a season off the trailer. It became a permenant fixture
