The DN-01 was the production version. It was a spectacular sales failure. The NM4 is a warmed-over version of the same idea, and I can't imagine it will sell much better.

I've never actually seen a DN-01 on the road, just shoved in the back of a dealership unsold. I like to refer to it as the answer to a question nobody asked. Why Honda would put resources into this thing while completely ignoring the booming ADV market back in 2009 was a mystery to many people.

Atleast the ducati sounds like a blast to ride, as for the Honda who the hell wants a bike without a clutch, that takes half the fun out of it

The Diavel is properly fast and according to knowledgeable sources, handles well. I just don't like it. I rode a VFR1200 with the DCT "automatic".........HATED IT!

There's one of these on the road around here. kooky bike. You know how recumbent bike owners are weird? well, multiply that by 2 and you have the owner of one of these things. similarly dangerous too. low, hard to see, and the riders is more suited to take a nap than avoid a hazard.

The DN01 and the successor the NM4 were a result of Honda's odd obsession with "the future of motorcycles". IIRC they were literally styled after motorcycles from the anime series "Akira".
