    Shoei Helmet Part

    If anyone has a crashed helmet you dont use I am looking for a front lower vent for my TZ-1. Shoei says I need to send my whole helmet in for inspection which my guess would be they wanna see if it crashed and is unsafe so they can sell me a new one. Well it didnt crash, it was just cheap and I dont want to send my whole helmet in. So if anyone has one they can pull off, I can send you some cash for it to cover shipping. Thanks

    Wow, that is lame. They sell the upper vent individually, and in a myriad of colors on their site, but not the lower vent.

    Good luck finding one.

    This makes sense though, what if someone just cut the straps and stole the helmet off someones bike? I could see having to send it with proof of purchase, but the lower vent, why not sell that straight up?

    Alright I sent it in today. They gave me further explaination saying you have to remove something, actually here is what they said.....

    In order for that vent to be replaced, the chin bar must be removed,
    and then re-installed after
    the new vent is installed. If the chin bar is not re-installed
    correctly, it can affect the
    helmets ability to provide you with the level of protection you may
    require in the case of an
    impact. As so, Shoei does not sell the vents to the public, and the
    helmet must be sent in for the
    vent to be replaced.

    Try Helmet Direct. sometimes they take awhile to ship but they carry stuff along those lines. I got a shoei shield through them a few months back.
