Shops going out of business like business is going out of style...

Damn. A year or two ago, I had 3 or 4 shops in spitting distance of my place. At least one was a kawi place. Now I'm trying to find some kawi fork parts (bushings and seals) and it seems like most places have gone under. sonofabitch!

It would be great if you guys would all spread the word to buy from the small shops and dealers that support the forum, instead of saving $1.92 in shipping or $10 on an Arai from the online shops in Kansas that you never talk to. Then more local shops might make it.

I DO make all the purchases I can locally. I actually PM'd Duck & Noel about this before even reverting to my local shops. Online is a last resort for me.

What I need is OEM Kawi stuff, seals and bushings. I didn't think you guys did that, if you do I'd be happy to give you my business as well. I shot you a PM trying to buy something else from you 4 days ago and have not gotten a reply. I'm all about supporting the local guys, especially the local guys that support us.

I actually replied to several pm's the other day that never went through.
    Sorry about that.
I was just making a general statement. Not a come buy from me statement.
All in most guys here have been great at supporting the sponsors and we all appreciate it.

    Riverside is a Kawi dealer.

Cool man. No hard feelings, just didn't want it to come off like I wasn't supplying our vendors. I go out of my way to do so. Hit me back about that PM whenever.

Having grown up in a family business I try to do this with almost all of the stuff I buy. Taking it a step further - I'll go to the local stereo shop over Best Buy. That's not to say I don't see if they'll come close to what I can get it for online or in a box store. It never hurts to ask, and I make sure to let them know I'm willing to pay a little more for service and keeping the money local...

    email works too.

Anyway to address your most recent pm.
I can get the SS-PUSH-LEFT switch in 3 business days. List $249.95

Rods are $20-$30 and they come as follows.
    SHFT RD-PSH/PUL FEM 255MM M6X1
    SHFT RD-PSH/PUL F 185MM-M6X1
    SHFT RD-PSH/PUL FEM 145MM M6X1
SHFT RD-PSH/PUL FEM 145MM m6 one end m8 other end.
    SHFT RD-PSH/PUL MALE100MM M6X1
    SHFT RD-PSH/PUL MALE 80MM M6X1

So it looks like you need to go measure in Millimeters instead of inches. Probably the 185mm rod?.... I'm not even going to touch the 7"+ rod comment.....

    Hey Ted,

I was just messing with ya...Haha

I have the "Map/TC" switch. I meant to say I am looking for the QS Switch (Part # SSPUSHLH) Just guessing as the one I have now is a SSPULLLH...

I need a rod 7"+/- long. I don't know what size they come in.

    Thanks
    -Eric

No lie, I called some shop up yesterday ( forgot the name, cycle something) and they said it would cost me $58.00 for a spark plug for my dirtbike....honest to God. I had them verify it 3x.

Online they were going for $8.00.

If I had the money ( poor college student) I'd love to support local guys, however when I can be saving $40+ from shopping online, I'll go that route.

Btw I barely buy anything new anymore, ebay is an amazing place

Would you have sold me a brandy new shoei RF-1000 shipped to my door for $321?

I have no local shop anymore, and the shop I did have wasn't a part of the NESR community...but unfortunately when I tried to support them with buying a new helmet, they wanted $475 for the above lid. MSRP. That's why they lost the sale. And I saved a whole lot more than the $11.92 you mentioned saving. But it was for a shoei.

I wonder if my ex local shop marked up their goods a little bit, instead of a lotta bit, if they'd still be open. Sell cheap, sell more of it, make more money in the end. Plain and simple, and it works. Unfortunately most people want top dollar.

For some manufacturers you actually can not advertise below MSRP. If you do you risk losing that brand, distributor, or franchise.

Actually right now our price on RF-1000 is $305 delivered. It's a closeout.
There is a newly enforced rule now that all of us can only advertise MSRP online. So if you want real quote you must email or pm.
