So, many of you would recognize my bike due to its custom windscreen that I painted out of boredom last summer. Well, unfortunately this winter that devil-girl almost met her demise. Rob left the house one morning a couple weeks ago (during that first big snowstorm) to find this:
After getting the limb removed from my bike, we noticed there was hardly any damage (HOORAY!). But, all that nice paint was now cracking and peeling. After a couple weeks it really started looking like ass:
So, I decided that, since I am on vacation, it is probably a good time to fix that mess. So, I began peeling away the paint, only to find that, though the silver came off fine, the blue was pretty stuck on there. Unfortunately for me, the blue is on top of the silver, and I already had the "crappy" part off by the time I figured that out.
So, I had to get creative:
And two days later, when all is said and done.....it isn't quite as nice as before, but at least it doesn't look like ass.

If you run into a wall with a helmet on, you still ran into a wall.
That looks AWESOME!
I almost like it better than the first!
Ever thought of a bike cover, or borrowing some garage space. It's painfull looking at the neglect of a bike sitting under a pile of snow.
It's all water under the bridge, and we do enter the next round-robin. Am I wrong?
The bikes were both garaged until after we got back from Mexico. When we took them out it was highs int he upper 60s with only rain in the forecast. By the time they switched that to a blizzard, my 13 hour days of working 2 jobs made it almost impossible to get them to a safe haven, so we kept our fingers crossed. Unfortunately it didn't turn out as well as I had hoped. If you want to check it over to make sure it is mechanically sound, you are more than welcome to.
And a bike cover wasn't going to help that situation at all.

We had the bikes in a heated basement (which after reading Oxx's fiasco might not be all that safe) all winter and took them out when it hit 70 one weekend and then by monday snow had suprised us, crappy situation but we definately do not neglect the bikes.I am just glad that there was no "real" damage to the bikes and I will admit we should have gotten the covers out.
badass...i like it!
