    Sidi boots

I was looking at these for mainly track riding next year and I am sure some street riding. Any opinions? How do you think they will be to walk in? Or if you do have some suggestions for something different..post up a link! This will be my first pair.

Any one delt with that site before? I use to go through metricbikes but, I have been hearing negative comments over there customer service.

    Re: Sidi boots

I have a pair of Sidi Stradas that i Love, i would definitely by another pair. I low sided in them and they got chewed up a bit still in one piece and my ankles were ok cept for the bike landing on one of them lol. so i'd recommend something like your looking at for real sport ridiing or track riding. However for normal road riding the stradas are great. I wouldn't recommend walking around in them for a long time though as they don't have alot of a support but they are fairly comfortable for stopping to walk around a bit.

I have the vertibras and wore them for an entire weekend since I forgot normal shoes. They weren;t exactly Doc Martens, but I really didn't notice them too much. IMO you really cant go wrong with sidi.

Edit: I also usually wear them all day on track days and they feel fine.

    Re: Sidi boots

Yeah, those are some really nice boots... I loved em when I checked em out in person, however I didn't quite like the way they fit as much as my old Alpinestars.

If you like how they fit then I say get em. If you DON'T like how they fit, check out out the Alpinestar Supertech Rs. Those are some pretty pimp boots too.

love mine. they can be uncomfortable if you have to walk a lot during the day, i.e. the code school where you go from the track to the classroom all day long, but they arent supposed to be walking shoes so who cares. love them on the bike.

I've delt with them once for a couple SuMo bits, and I got my last pair of gloves from them. Nothing special about their pricing and shipping was slower than they said it would be (they shipped it later than they said they would).
I'd bet that Razee's will do better on pricing for you than motostrano, ask for the discount

My sidi's are 10 years old with probably 50K road miles, a bunch of trackdays, a crash, and 2 1/2 seasons of LRRS and they have help up awesome

    Re: Sidi boots

I wear an older pair of Vert 2's as my street boots now and the Vertigo Corsas on the track. The Vert 2's have seen the track and I've been down with them a couple times. The Corsa's have been absolutely abused and they're still going strong. I'll echo Ryan...worth every penny. I love my Sidi's. If I was buying street/sport boots for day to day and some track, the Vertigo's would be my choice. Go for it

The Vortice's will be my next race boot. Replaceable soles

    Re: Sidi boots

I have the non-perforated Sidi Vertigos & love 'em. They work fine on the street. Before I got them I was expecting ski-boot type of walking; thats not even close to the case. Only time i notice them is when going down stairs. But then again I don't hoof it much when I'm out on a ride.

    Re: Sidi boots

I have the vertigo's, non perforated.... I'd suggest getting the non perforated version as they do breathe pretty well when you open the side vent and you'll be able to wear them when it's cooler out...... i've crashed 4 times in mine, 1 highside and 3 lowsides... they have held up very well.... they're sized about 1/2 size large... ie. I got a size 10 boot and I wear size 9.5sneakers and shoes... I put a heel gel sole and that improves comfort tremendously... I can wear them all day and my feet are fine at the end of the day. I'm not talking miles, but for walking around while hanging with your buddies or a full track day... no problems..... well worth the money IMO....

To throw a spin on my question....Would the Sidi Vertigo, or the Vertigo Corsa boots work as a motard boot also. Main concern will be the wear on the base. Do all the Sidi boots have replacable soles? Am leaning toward just bighting the bullet and getting the Corsa's.....so much money

A full time foot out motard boot? No. You'll wear the soles too quickly and, while they give good ankle support, it's not even close to a good dirt/true motard boot.

A Loudon motard boot? Yup, but I ride knee out.

The new vortice's replaceable sole is only in the area under the ball of the foot where the knurled pegs from the rearsets tend to dig through boots. It's not a full sole replacement as far as I can see. To get a full sole replacement you'll have to go with the Supermoto specific boots. I forget the model, but they're much closer to a dirt boot. Vertigo's and Vert Corsas don't have a replaceable sole option.

    Second part of your question.

There are a couple differences between the top level Corsa's and the Vertigo's. iIstep adjustment strap, some additional external ankle support, carbon fiber, etc. They're fantastic if you're only using them on the track, but they can be a bit much for day to day use. The instep strap is really nice to snug the foot down so it doesn't move. Here is a comparison of the two on sportbike track gear's website http://stores.sportbiketrackgear.com/Detail.bok?no=2085

The new Vortice's...well...I'll direct you their website again to watch their review http://sportbiketrackgear2.homestead.com/boots.html. They're definitely top of the line and have some really nice features.

If these boots will be spending all of their time on the track, I'd personally look at (at least) the Corsa's for the additional ankle support, however, you won't go wrong with any of them
