Are Sidi Vertigo's overkill for a street only rider?

I am deciding what boots to buy. Are the vertigos overkill? How about the B-2?

    Suggestions would be great!

general rule of thumb is that your body is your body, People can get just as hurt on the street as you can on the track, if not more hurt...

I've seen the pictures of people's feet after crashes with crappy boots. I like my feet just how they are. Outside of my helmet, I consider my Vertigos the best purchase I've made for gear.

I just got some Sidi Strada Evo Rain's and I'm liking them alot. They aren't super armored but have shin plates, heel guard and ankle protection. They're great for street riding. I almost got some B-2's but wanted something with some water resistance. The B-2's do come in gore-tex but you have to order them from the UK which is LAME because those are the ones I would have gotten.

I have the Vertigo's and love them. Once they are broken in, they are quite comfortable. Get them.

I wear my Supertech R's on the street all the time.

Race boots are generally comfortable on the bike, but they aren't the most comfortable to walk around in. So if you're not gonna be walking around a ton & walking comfort isn't a factor, I see no reason why you shouldn't buy the best protection you can afford.

Go try em on & see how ya like em.

I guess the vertigo it is.

Most of my riding is to/from work, and I leave my loafers at the office. So I don't think I'll be doing a lot of walking in them.

I love my Vertigo Corsas. Buy the best gear that you can afford. Gear with great protection is just as important on the street.
