Leather knee pucks...someone care to educate me?

    Why leather?

What does it offer over the composites?

Are they really worth the extra $$?

    Longevity compared to composites?

    Likes and dislikes?

Discuss please as I am more than intregued by these.

They are not as slippery as the plastic stuff...

They give a different 'feel', which some riders prefer.

I have never tried them... this is just what I recall reading way back. I believe Doug Chandler was a big fan of leather pucks.

I'm wondering if it's worth it just to give 'em a try.

From what I've read, they offer more grip but that's about all I got out of what I've read so far, hence my questions.

from what i've gathered, they offer more feel & wear out quicker. Degsy's got one that he found.

MORE grip is not what you are looking for in knee pucks. Indeed, I have heard it said that some riders feel that dragging a knee increases lap time...(slows you down)...and my guess is that you want as little friction as possible. My Technics Leathers came with Ceramic composite. I like em a lot. They wear well, I like the feel when they are dragging, and they don't catch or drag.

    My two cents.

I thought one would want the option to dig in to help the bike rotate more, no?

    Try Klucky Pucks.

While I wish they were a bit larger in size, I find them to be fantastic for wear and feel. They don't melt, as I believe they are of the ceramic composite you speak of, and they seem to last forever.
