Hmmm.....
2021 KTM Duke 890 R
2016 BMW S1000XR
1982 Honda CB750F Super Sport
Yah.. if only it wasn't so darn expensive!
Sounds like it has FI problems which are very familiar to me but BMW is "cool" about it like Triumph and is trying to fix it themselves unlike Honda..
I don't like linked brakes, fuccceerrrsss
Worried you can't do burnouts?
I don't know about the BMW but the Honda system supposedly still lets you do them. Since the front wheel is locked it doesn't have any force to activate the rear brake.
I am not convinced any of us have any reason to complain about modern linked brakes or ABS unless the application is strictly track-only or racing.
i'd still take the busa
Bras cause cancer.
not to defend them but explain a little. ben i'm sure you know. i have linked brakes with abs. the link works like this atleast on the honda. when the back brake is applied only 1 piston in the front calipers receives pressure. same for when the fronts are used. its not 50/50 witch most people seem to think. i don't stunt or race so they seem fine to me. i did have a squid moment last fall and do a burnout. i just put the front tire up to a unmoveable object and well you know......
You should have been able to do it without the solid object.
I gotta put my bike up on the centerstand and try it but the front brake theoretically can't affect the rear wheel unless the front wheel is turning.
your right, but the opportunity was there.Originally posted by benVFR

the abs light came on after too. i have to see if it will "clear" itself on the first ride this year.
Hah.. forgot about that. I wonder if you fugged the sensor!
If you have the service manual you can figure out what the ABS light means.
There is something you do, I forget exactly what, that will cause it to flash a sequence of lights to diagnose why the ABS light came on. And once you have the sequence you can look it up and figure out what tripped the light.
I'd ask on VFRd or the mailing list.. I'd be really curious to hear if anyone else has done this too if burnouts really screw up ABS!
good idea i'll have to post on there tomorrow. it seems to me that because i didn't touch the brakes it should be fine but who knows. i wish i had a service manual. i try to get one for all my machines even though there getting so complicated to work on.Originally posted by benVFR

Razee Motorcycle Center in North Kingstown RI is having a BMW open house April 16th, and they will have the K1200S and the 2 other K1200's there. Should be fun
