    Source for Penske shock bushing/spacer?

It appears in all my wisdom of working on the bike past dark, I lost one of the spacers that goes into the top of the shock and presses against the tabs on the frame. I'm not sure how to describe the part, but I'm sure many of you have seen them. Anyone know what they are called, or where I may be able to source one?

While you both make valid points, it's not exactly business hours and I doubt Pete would appreciate a home call from me over this even if I had the means. Plus, it'd be nice to know what the hell this thing was called so I sounded like a little less of an idiot when I call him tomorrow.

OTOH, the conversation is going to start with "Hey Pete, while taking apart a bike I lost the spacer for the Penske" so I suppose trying to sound like I'm not an idiot after that opener would be rather pointless. I'll just call PK tomorrow.

I believe a quarter would not work. I believe the spacer that he is talking about goes into the eyelet of the shock and alsogoes between the frame and the shock.

That's the one! I could, in theory, remove the one I still have (it should have 2) and measure it, draw it, and bring it to the machine shop. I'm thinking it's probably not all that expensive of a part and not worth calling in those favors if I can just buy one.

After? Since when is PK shy? I fully expect him to laugh at me while I'm still on the phone. If you guys can get me the damn bushing/spacer/whatchamacallit I'll take the ribbing with a smile.

You don't give the man enough credit. You'll already know why I'm calling, I expect hearing his commentary will be enough to get a laugh from ya!

I will give you this, you were smart. You chose the weekend I'll be on a completely new to me bike (I'm not even sure the thing works at this point) with an injured finger. You're going to need more than that to keep me from spanking you like a misbehaving child (wait, wat?) though.

I have never rode the bike with the shock that's on it, or the forks, or the carbs. Plus I haven't even rode this bike in like 8 months.

According to what I've seen done on some bikes you don't need any bushings. Just tighten the bolt till you run out of thread. And if you have tits you can get a broken shopping cart through tech.......
