Re: South Shore Motorsports going out of business

just got back from SS Motor Sports. They're closing in about a month. None of the items inside are marked down, they're just discounting them when you ask.
As far as bikes, Suzuki came yesterday at 9am and took their inventory. There are two new R6's in stock, but Yamaha is taking them on Monday. There are a few used R6's in stock that I saw. Kawasaki is taking their bikes on Tuesday. They are not turning down any "reasonable" offers I was told by sales. Hope this helps anyone asking.

I was there Friday when Suzuki was rolling the last of the quads in the truck. Very sad situation. Lots of families affected by this.

I wonder if an 11th hour buy-out is on the cards? I also wonder how much cash-ola it would take.

    derek

It was tried. I was shocked the OEM's were not more flexible. An oversight by an employee brought it all to the ground.

There has to be more behind the story then we talked about at the shop. I cant think of a reason why the manufacturers would want their stuff back if there was a chance they could get rid of it.

The money involved was A LOT. And in this current industry economy it's hard to raise that type of capital overnight.

However, OEM's are like banks. They don't want property they want money. This is why this situation is even more confusing with regards to them rushing to the store to reclaim the floored product.

    Old facility. Best overall.
Service Department is in a new lacation next door. Tim Ribbe is the Manager. He used to own All Performance Cycles (APC) in Rockland. He knows his stuff. Great Guy. If you see him tell him I said hi.
just called them to order misc screws, push pins, etc. once again, very friendly service. i'd go to them even if SS motorsports was open
