    South Shore Roads

So I got an internship in boston for the summer, which means I won't be living in CT. I'm staying at my girlfriend's house in Pembroke, and brought the bike up earlier this week - but I'm lost as to where some good roads are around here. I've found a few with nice twists, but it's all residential and there's lots of kids.

I know people aren't inclined to post good routes, and I don't blame you - so anyone in the area want to show me around?

    thanks for the help!

(I tried asking my gf's mom for good roads - she sent me down 139 in marshfield - pretty much a straight road, that's under construction with exposed manholes every 20 feet - won't ask her again for advice )

Route 3A is a good road when there is no traffic. Try to get down to Miles Standish State park but watch out for the sand.

good call. Miles standish as long as you don't get lost in there......
Everything is residetial down there though..... Check out some of the more main routes in Norwell - those tend to be ok. I am at a loss for route numbers and cause I haven't lived down there for years but norwell into plymouth tend to be less residential on the back roads.....

Yah, not to worry about posting SS routes; there ain't none. You can however find some nice scenic coastal routes starting up in Hull and moving South, but be prepared for patches of sand, no-blinker-quick-stopping-cellPhone-chatting SUV's with "baby on board" stickers (I never understood those stupid signs; am I supposed to drive differently in defense of thier progeny?), pedestrian/bicycle traffic, and slow movers.

There are bits and pieces of nice turns though if you look around but they're also residential so you gotta mind the throttle.

I've never hit Miles Standish. I hear there's legendary sand, but a few nice runs.

I would stay away from RT 3A; it's the South Shore highway and is pretty much straight the whole way. You're bound to get stuck behind an anaconda line somewhere. Definitely avoid during rush hour and weekends.

I'd tour the areas East of RT 3, there seems to be a bit more country on that side down near Pembroke and S/SW of there.

    Good luck!

thanks for the tips everyone, sorry for the late reply. I'll have to check out Miles Standish, maybe this weekend as I haven't had much time to ride this week.

    thanks again!
