    spare wheel transport ?

Just take a couple 2x4's or something and lay em parallel to eachother, wide enough so the rotor fits between em & the tire rests on top of em. That way the wheel isn't resting on the rotor & the rotor isn't hitting anything.

use old tires as seperators to protect the rotors. I have some extra junk tires if you need them. I think I may even have some at KB's house.

It's all water under the bridge, and we do enter the next round-robin. Am I wrong?

i always seem to have several sets of takeoffs laying around... stack the wheels with old tires as separators.

i just lay em stacked in my truck and they have never moved, but for a long ride i might tie em together with tie downs so they cant shift around.

Make sure you secure the axle spacers in so you don't lose them during transport

Randy, the unpaved roads, what are they like? Are they hardpack? Will there be any single track type trails and how "offroad" will you go with your SV?
I have no problem running the street bunns on the dirt roads, but anything offroad and wet gets a little tricky I'm guessing I'll bring the bike down with the Motard stuff on it and bring the dirty gear just in case?

Mark you and the other off roading nuts should contact Ron and Nancy to get the digs on some off the beatin routes. They go dual sport riding all the time they may even have a few mid week days off to lead you around??? Maybe?

E-Mail ron and Nancy here. Ron & Nancy Be sure you tell them you are with Me and Keith - the group from Mass and the week we are there. He likes us! So they should hook us up with route for off roading!

Oh ya know Mark you may not be allowed to go. See this note on the Treetops site... "Sorry, no children or adults under 12
without prior approval and security deposit."

    spare wheel transport ?

All the road I went on last year were with street tires, but I would have certainly prefered knobbies for the downhill stuff

mostly hardpack with a scattering of loose peastone size gravel

one road, Pool Creek road down in Georgia though had a lot of loose dirt

Tatham Gap Road is steep, tight switchbacks up and down

I think Clayton said he went up Tatham Gap Road, but not down the other side

I also have spare axles so I will not have any problem with my spacers

what kind of lift do we have availble to change wheels, I never really paid attention to what kind of equipment is in te garage

I'll hang mine from a tree if I have to

I'll be bringing a MX style slide-up stand or a tall milk crate. I'm sure we can rig something up to change your wheels.

Randy all you need to do is take your rotors off and sprockets and cush drive. Put all the stuff in a bag and bring it to my house and I will get them down for you.

There will be an assload of tools and a front and rear stand to change your shit, put rotors and sprockets back on yata yata.

I would rather the rotors be off rather than chance bending one.
